Thanks to those who came out. Since it's getting to be around the holidays, we'll have a meet sometime (more than likely a weekday) in December and then probably not another until January.

I don't know what to do to get people to come out, honestly. We have only 5-7 dedicated members. Having meets is getting to be pointless.

I'd like to do a potluck or bbq, but I really need a minimum of 8 people. If we can't get that, then it won't happen.

People always complain about doing stuff that is cheap, but when we go out to eat, it doesn't get much cheaper than that. People don't HAVE to get a full meal. They can get an appetizer or something.

It is sad that some people just use money as an excuse. Stuff at George's doesn't get much cheaper. People could either spend $2.00 on a chili dog or spend $10 making something for a potluck. People like to complain and find reasons not to do some things.

I can see that some people are busy or have stuff going on. That's fine. Everyone can't make every meet. The people that just skip because they are lazy or trying to come up with an excuse aren't true Scikotics. These are the people that are going to fall by the wayside and loose out on the upcoming "perks" that will be happening to Des Moines Scikotics.

We can't make them come. It will be their loss though.

Kelsi's Awesome Directions:
When on I-80, take the Merle Hay Road exit. Go north (opposite of the auto mile) on Merle Hay Road. You keep going and going and going. You get to a T-intersection. Hang a left on that. You'll go past Camp Dodge (the airplane & tanks) and I believe it's the next drive after that, you smash a right. It says Lakeview on the sign. Drive in there and to the left there is a shelter house. This is what I'm hoping to get.
*Note: If it's full and you don't see Scions, go to the bottom there is a big parking lot. This is sorta the back-up plan. :)


FOOD: PLEASE bring your own drink and a little something to share. Just bring salad, fruit, cookies, whatever. Try to not bring chips (if someone else brings them) since we always end up with like, 8 bags. :lol:

What to Bring:
- Your own drink
- Any condiments you may want
- Lawn chair or blanket
- Frisbees, soccer ball, any other (non-destructive) outdoor games
*I am pretty sure pets are allowed, so if you bring a dog or other pet, make sure to bring bags for poo. :up:

Um, we haven't yet. We tried to get one last year and it was a flop. I know the end of next month we're getting together with Minneapolis (info will be posted next week). I'll look into planning an all-Iowa meet with CR and ScinergyIA sometime in August. I'm just glad there's interest! :up:

Thank you guys all so much for coming out!!! I had a blast!

I had told Jason that if I didn't have 6-8 people for sure that were going to come, I didn't want to plan this and buy a bunch of meat for no reason. I went ahead with it anyway, and like, 10 (and a half!) people showed up!!!

We'll be doing a meet sometime during the week probably not this week, but the following week. I'm thinking on a Wednesday so Brad can make it out (hopefully!).

WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!

Chris Fergen is leaving. He's moving back to Sioux City to pursue a career that he's always wanted(maybe). Anyway, his going away party is July 1st at Old Chicago on Merle hay at 6:30.

This DIRECTLY conflicts with the A&W meet and Chris is one of our Members here in the DSM chapter and a good friend of mine which takes me off the roll call for this meet.

Maybe we should shift our meet to go to Old Chicago and spend a good last evening with our friend before he leaves.

We could do the A&W meet next month, because believe me, I really want to go to A&W. I Love that place.

Our photoshoot meet went FANASTIC last year, so we'll give it another go. :) We'll meet up at Stella's Blue Sky Diner afterwards for a nice little cruise.

There are a couple other places in that immediate area as well. The 2 I'm thinking of are just south of downtown on MLK (one at 7th & MLK, the other at 11th (I think) & MLK) that we can get to to take a few more photos. :up:

Eh... yeah personally I have to be on good behavior until after September, so I stay within the speed limit usually. So I don't want this to cause problems for others. I'd say about 5 over is the highest I suggest ('specially downtown, they seem to be cracking down).

I'm debating about whether or not to release the actual list or not. But it's a really awesome point system that Stephanie worked out. Like you get x-amount of points for tagging a car with rims, you may get extra points for actually talking to someone about their car, etc. We'll have like, 2 hours (just estimating here) to get as many points as you can, or complete the list. The team with the most points obviously wins.

YES!!! We have looooots of tagging cards. We have the red ones that were handed out at the meet, and we also have post-card sized ones that you can write on (I think I left one of those on your car before I met you).

Just so people can't "stage" to have the needed items beforehand, the exact requirements list will be given out on the day of the rally. For instance, like Kelsi said, we had discussed a point system to determine winners. We discussed specific colors, mods, cars, etc.
