I have always wanted to run a turbo set up on the tc and just never had the money. Gonna be paying off the tc after the first of the year and right now I have approximately 130,000 on the enigine. All highway miles and use Royal purple oil in the engine and tranie. The tc still runs as strong as the day I bought it.

What im getting at is. Is it ok to Turbo my scion tC with approximately 130,000 miles on the motor???

Thinking about either dezode or descindent maybe even P tuning. All great companies and kits from what ive seen and heard video's etc.

Depends on how much boost your looking to run and if your going to be doing any other mods with it (clutch etc..). I don't know tons about forced induction but I personally would stay away from it on high mileage motors unless you plan on rebuilding it eventually. I could be dead wrong on that but that's my 2 cents.

Keep the boost reasonable, keep the oil full and changed, and most importantly get it tuned by someone who knows what they're doing. The majority of forced induction cars that blow up are due to a bad tune causing detonation, cranking up the boost past what the engine can stand in the first place, or somebody screwing with it that has no business screwing with it.

Just wanted to run something simple like 7 to 9 pounds of boost. If I want more at a later time, then i would probably buy an extra motor and build it. I already have a stage 1 clutch and lite weight fly wheel

Totally off subject but Stark did the flywheel help responceany? And i have wondered the same thing about the turbo mine has 92,000 on it and i have thought about boost but was worried it would have problems later.

I believed it helped somewhat. I think it would work out boost wise...As long as you dont go crazy and start turning up your boost to high and keep it at 6 to 9 pounds. I know eventually i will have to get a new motor some day and with a 500.00 $ car payment out of the way i think i would just invest in a modified block etc that dezod sells...then i can really have some fun with running thoughs higher boost #'s. That and i live about 2 miles from a time attack course in Pahrump NV at spring mountains motorsports so going to the track about once a week would be fun...:icon_yes:

This is 100 percent accurate.

High mileage or not, a properly tuned FI car can run for thousands of miles w no issues.

Case and point, I bought a highmilage junkyard single cam civic engine...did basic maintenance to it...water pump timing belt etc, boosted w a Greddy kit 40k miles no problems at 6lbs of boost.

Just get it tuned by someonewho knows what's up for REAL....get references, lookat the customer cars those say a lot....

Corey, you're absolutely correct. it's all in the tune, but i would like to also recommend that you at least start saving (or have some kind of plan in place) as soon as you get your turbo kit installed and tuned that way it won't ruin your financial life (as much) in the case that your engine does give out. play it safe. personally, with that milage, i recommend 6 psi. just in my experience, i've known alot of guys with tc boosted (8-9 psi) new with engines that lasted 5k-40k. but then again, i've seen a 600 whp tc on stock internals... lasted 500 miles, but still. lol. but there are many factors to take into consideration. just don't get a shit turbo kit. go with dezod, p-tuning or decendant. but most importantly make sure you get your car tuned by the best tuner you can find. trust me, it's worth the extra $$$. Yeah, and make sure you beef up your clutch. my stock clutch lasted about 2k miles @ 9 psi, and i hardly get on it. but i've been safely boosted for 10k miles so far... i installed the kit with only 2k miles on it. warranty? what warranty? lol.

here's some links to give you an idea about a build:

I wouldn't boost it. Turbo tC's stock motor usually don't see over 40-50k miles. Unless your boosting very low, you'll be okay but I dont see why you would want to boost low psi if your boosted, i'm looking to reach my goal of 600+whp. Gotta save that mulah and working on the block and head.

Low boost is still mad fun.
