I have a 2010 xB RS 7.0, and on Monday I discovered a major flood of water pouring into the front seat from under the dashboard and from the center console. All the carpets, front and back were totally soaked, and there was a puddle of water on both the driver's side and passenger side front. The smell was horrible too......like an old, wet, dead dog.

Took it to the dealer right away, of course! Unfortuantely I had to leave town on a business trip, so I left it at the dealer. I got a call from the Service manager yesterday telling me that the cause was some type of reservoir that got clogged up with "debris" which in turn caused the flooding on the inside.

Does this make sense to any one? Has this happened to anyone else? And if it hasn't happened to you yet...have YOU checked your reservoir thingy to prevent similar damage to your Box?

The good news is the dealer has repaired the damage, replaced the reservoir, all the padding and carpeting, and it was all covered by the warranty. I can pick my car up on Monday when return back home.

That does make sense. It is probably the A/C reservoir which is supposed to drain outside the car. Then water comes from condensation on the A/C components, which is contained, collected, and directed to a reservoir (basically a plastic tank w/ a hose in on top and out on the bottom to prevent a backlog if the right conditions for heavy condensation). if the hose out gets clogged, it backs up. Also, on some systems (not sure about xB2s), the hose into the reservoir "pops off" and dumps everything into the floor. Tomorrow, if I remember, I'll look under the dash and see where our's is and how the hoses go.

The drained water is the "pee-spot" of clear water under a car where the A/C has been running . . .

It still SUCKS when a big leak happens!
(The reason I know the above . . . I've experienced a massive puddle before and had to clean it up.)
