do the 4-2-1 design headers give me hp than the 4-1 design? is it a rumor or is it actually dyno proven that they are better? and is there a power dif between dif types of 4-1 designs? the dif between a dc header and an ebay header, no power dif right just better made and welds. also is there a dif in rasp between headers, what would make them more raspy than others?

EVERY header will give you rasp, you just have to eliminate it by adding resonators in you midpipe. when u shop for headers, be sure to get ceramic coated cuz they wont tarnish to ugly purple rust look like mine. also be sure to order an antifouler with it, to keep your CEL from coming on, i got mine from ebay for like 10 bucks. as far as 4-1 or 4-2-1, i would go with the 4-2-1, lil more money, but they give a lil more power, less restriction going from 2 pipes to 1 than 4 pipes to 1.

I`ve Heard That The 4-1 Are Better Than The 4-2-1 B/c The Air Goes Straight Into The Exhaust System Rather Than 2 Pipes Then 1. I Could Be Very Wrong Though. I Also Heard The "megan Racing Headers" Will Make The Cel Come On But The "dc" Headers Won`t (may Not Need The Antifoiler) But For 10 Bucks You Might As Well Just In Case... Probably Didn`t Help But I`d Definately Look Into It More.

yes the dc headers do make the CEL come on. all headers do if it doesnt do it right away it will come on. and yes the 4-2-1 is better a lil better air flow. but how much better are the 4-2-1 than the 4-1? like a big noticable dif or really not that big of a deal. im getting obx header with s pipe for $100 bucks. not worried about the cermic finish. ima send them to jet hot for them to do that coating so they will come back looking clean and will benefit me in a lot of ways. yea i know all headers give rasp but some more than others. cheap cheap cheap headers will give u a pretty good amount of rasp. 4-2-1 headers dont really give that much rasp. now im answering my own question lol but reading and asking around does help. but yea ima get the headers 4-1 design cause its a good deal and im desperate for more power. if the two design dif are significantly dif then in the future i will get a 4-2-1 but for now $100 bucks for header and s pipe in great condition sounds fine to me.

Any header will make the CEL come on, since the secondary O2 sensor will see more fuel and such because the first Cat was removed.
As for 4-2-1 vs 4-1, 4-2-1 headers are better for low-mid range power scavenging. They'll create more power on the low-end side, while still being just as good for gains on the high-end.

well i`m learning alot i heard the dc headers worked perfect for the tc and i didn`t know thats wat caused alot of rasp... if thats the case i`ll stay away from headers as long as i can. let me know if your meetin up this thursday... i wanna check out your ride.
and NICK i see you have an automatic with a turbo? hows that work for you? i would like to supercharge my automatic b/c it makes since, but you can get so much more power with a turbo. any info you can give me on that?

yea headers are good if u want a n/a setup or a lil more juice with a s/c. no point if getting turbo. but rasp is no big deal there are ways of quieting it a lot by adding resonators or whatever but u will still have rasp. and yes we are meeting this weekend but im not getting the headers till fri so u wont be able to check em out till next thurs but its all good.

Yes - I make a lot more power than a SC'd automatic does. I know it's a pain but there's a nice guide to turbocharging autos on SL - it's got decent information.
Whatever you do - get a Transmission cooler! :D

yea ima get the antifoulers and what not. and yes me too dude. i hope they can squeeze a lot of whp out of that beast. like i was sayin with there new intake we might be pushing almost 190+ whp with n/a
