Okay I already have a CAI on the car, but here is what I plan to do.
Catback, crank pulley, drop springs and slotted rotors.
I know if something happens the parts that I put on will not be covered.
I just can't find anything that says exactly what type of mods will void it all together.
So could someone shed some light on this please.

This might not answer all of your question, but i know that before i did my spring install, I called the toyota 1-800 number and asked a warranty specific guy himself if it would void it all.

he said it would only void anything related to the springs, for instance if the struts go out, you're screwed payin for it yourself. but if your transmission goes out, its not your springs fault, so its covered. but you know that a dealership would probably try to fight you and give you shit about it. So I think it just depends on how comfortable you are with the "risk" lol.

Hope this helps.

if you go turbo, you will be hardpressed to find a dealership willing to warranty anything but a fuel cap door.

What if you get the TRD lowering springs when you buy the car and your shocks go bad because of their springs?

That i'm sure would be ok. Because its their product. Plus those spings aren't as aggressive as most so you shouldn't ever have a problem. I'm pretty sure though that aftermarket TRD items that are purchased at the same time as the car carry the same warranty as the car. But that TRD items bought separately or afterwards only carry something like a 1 year warranty or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure that they don't void any warranty though.

Hit up your local dealer for any specifics. they'll let ya know for sure.

Thats funny

surprisingly, if you take anything to the dealer, and pay them to install it, if something happens because of a defect in the part or an installation error, the dealer is going to be held responsible

According to the magnusun-moss act, nothing can technically void the warranty, unless whatever breaks is caused by that mod(s).

I got my TRD springs installed by Keith and then i had my alignment done by the toyota dealership and they said nothing about the warranty being voided or anything.

Sweet. Ya the only problem is that most dealerships would probably give you so much sh*t about it and fight it so hard tryin to tell you that your mod is the cause. Unless its TRD stuff. Then they might not cus you could just say "In that case YOUR product is the problem".

Even though TRD stuff is so expensive, that warranty is nice.

your joking right? you can pay a dealership to install anything, but the install is the only thing they will warranty unless its trd. i would love that kinda dealership, "hey my turbo is bad, throw another in for me would ya" warrantied, hah!!!! that would be nice.

ha yeah that would be nice!

It all depends on your dealership...some can be cool about mods and im sure there are a few dealerships that are performance orientated, but not all of them are ok with it...you just gotta fight them

Like Munky said, according to the MM warranty act, nothing will void the warranty on factory parts unless the aftermarket part or install can be proven to have caused the factory part to fail. That being said, it's all about what the dealership wants to claim when stuff breaks.

I'm currently fighting Toyota over a damaged block (see the post below)

My xB is down. hole in the block (http://www.scikotics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26561)

The dealer said the TRD cold air intake caused water damage. The roads were dry when it broke and the TRD intake has an AEM air bypass valve installed, so the story doesn't hold weight. However, the dealer wouldn't listen and Scion corporate just relied on the dealer report instead of sending out a regional inspector. I'm now in arbitration under the Toyota warranty guidelines and won't have a hearing until April 17. The car went down Feb. 23. I am confident I will get the warranty honored, but am having to go through a lot of BS to do it all because I took it to an uncooperative service manager (he compared me trying to get it covered through warranty to setting my house on fire and then trying to get insurance to pay for it).

Bottom line, none of the stuff you listed should void the engine, powertrain or other warranty. If something does go bad, ask around the community and try to find a dealer that supports the mod community. The extra tow fee for a further-away dealership will be well worth it.

well all i can say is that landers scion in arkansas happens to be one of the few performance dealerships...they ask me whenever i go up there if i have installed my tubro bc they want to ride in it
