hey guys,
so i got some copper v-power NGK sparkies, 2 step colder
my question is .....
Gapping !
for all you turbo people, did you gap your spark plugs ?
if so ? what spark plugs are you using and how much did you gap them at ?

.... You don't want copper plugs... the tC takes Iridium Only!
You want some Denso or NGK 1 or 2 step colder plugs. I mine are Denso IK24's (2 stepp colder) gapped to .032.

why would the car only take iridium plugs ?
i have had non iridium plugs in the car before awhile back before i was turbo.
to my knowledge, iridium is a type of plug used for fuel economy cars, or cars that have good mileage. or increase mileage

It says so right on the engine and in the manual.
And yes, the tC engine is a fuel economy engine.... 2AZ-FE

Ah yeah.... but the F in FE is for Fuel Economy.... I just take it to say FE because every engine has EFI now.

Yep, Iridiums only. I plan on picking a set of one step colder plugs for my install.

You should be able to get them at any auto parts store. If they don't have them, they can order them.

I am not sure if this is 100% correct or not, but I think I remember hearing that because the tC's run hotter exhaust gas temps, the iridium plugs are more resilient to the heat.

Yes they are - iridium plugs run colder. Mine are 2 steps colder than stock, too
