What purpose do they serve? If I cut the fronts, how much lower would it be? And would it effect the ride comfort (ie bumpier)?
Thanks yall!

If I've got it right bump stops are there as a buffer if you bottom out the shocks. Trimming them down helps to keep you from bottoming out or if you are really dropped out you might be riding on them. (we put dropzone coils on a first gen B that was sitting on the bump stops before we trimmed them)
I don't really know how much lower you'd get if you trimmed them. I'm on Raceland coilovers so I'm not using the stock shocks or bump stops.

^^same here. Never really dealt with that before so I don't want to feed you false info.
But how low are you trying to go? Racelands do a great drop and if you remove the bottom perch and have 17" or smaller you'll be on the ground. Which is the main reason I'm selling my 18" and going with 17's instead.

I'm on 16s ;) Still got some fitment issues to work around (0 offset might just be too low) before I can go full slam.

Alright, so if the bumpstop keeps thr shock from bottoming out, then cutting it would only make u lower if you were already low enough and resting in it...Mmk, I think i got it, cutting it in my case just gives the shock more room to compress...and ill get coilovers eventually, but im about to get into autox so I fel5 static was the best for now...thanks guys

Coils = static.

How does static mean coilovers? Doesn't the word static mean still or motionless? Ie springs? You guys and your terminology, I'm so lost...haha

They aren't adjustable on the fly. Static drop is springs or coil. Non-static is bags or juice.

I guess true static would be replacing your suspension with metal rods. No more rubbing over bumps!

I've got about .5-1" of thread in the back and 1-2" in the front.

Cannon 0et is do able on a tc. It's just how much camber and fender work you're willing to do to get it right. Keep it up, you'll get. The car already looks good.
And Static is mostly pertaining to coils...they're adjustable but you have to physically get out of the car to adjust them.

Yeah, I'm still running my auto-X alignment with only -1.7 in the back and some weird combination up front. I'm thinking -2.5 up front and -3 in the rear. Also I'm looking at spacing the front fenders.

Alright, so I just got confirmation from ksport that yes, i shouldve cut the bumpstops and thats probably why the front isn't as low as it should be...
