i believe its thin particle board wrapped with carpet, thats what my old car had and it feels the same.

this wont help much, but i had the same quadsport, hell of a 4-wheeler.

i would bring it to a sound system place to have them do it, looks challenging.

use starboard(looks like pvc plywood), its lighter and easier to work with.its what they use on boats, super strong and never rotts.

it's kinda like the bill of a hat - pretty much sturdy cardboard.

cutting the hole will be easy - router or jigsaw should do the job.

the vinyl will be easy

mounting the plex to the cargo cover...probably not very easy without unsightly screws.

well i think im gion 2 go ahead and try to make my own first because of that fact i dont have a backup...if i mess up then i will have a big whole in my trynkj and idk judges would like that at any shows lol so im goin 2 try to find a material then find the carpet to spray glue on any maybe sew the edges but idk yet for sure it should be an exciting day for me!!

Why not use an epoxy to hold it in place instead of screws? Sounds like a cool idea. Keep updating please!

i think its a good idea. take and cut your oval out with the jigsaw or whatever weapon of choice, then cut your plexi to go under the trunk piece but leave overhang then cut a trim piece to go around the oval on top to cover the rough carpet edge and bolt through the trim, carpet.then plexi on bottom. you get what i`m talking about?

(trim piece could be 1/2" mdf or smaller and just paint it)

hope this helps
