I installed a Pioneer Head Unit on my old truck and bought a Sirius tuner that is supposed to be able to plug into ANY Pioneer head unit.

This worked very will with my old head unit in my truck, however, after taking my premium head unit out of my 08 xB, I couldn't seem to find the input port for the Sirius.

Like I said, I already have a Sirius tuner for Pioneer, but for some reason, I can't connect it to the Scion Pioneer system.

What do I need to do to make this work. THe dealership told me I had to put a new tuner along with a fit kit to make it work.

Thanks in advanced.

Yeah your sirius kit won't work with the stock Pioneer unit. It doesn't have the IP bus connection on it(square blue or black plug) which is how the kit you have connects. Only the sirius kit from toyota will connect to that radio.

That really sucks. I am really not going to spend alot of money on a tuner then a fit kit on top of that.

I think I am going to just buy a portable one that you can listen to on an FM station.

Anyone know of a cheap place to buy the Sirius kit for the Scion units.

Haha, your right on that one.

I heard that people were actually plugging their external Sirius units into the AUX port on the back of their unit and getting good results. Only problem is you can't control Sirius from the head unit or the steering column.

I found out that you have to buy something called a TOY-SC1(adapter for Toyota/Lexus) that Directed Electronics makes that allows the SC1-C1(tuner) to plug into an Lexus or Toyota head unit.

Both of them will run you around $150. Which is a little costly for me.

I have very little clue about this. But would it be easier to (or do they even make?) get an adapter that would turn the ipod jack into what you're lookin for? Do the xBs even have a ipod jack?

We do, but it would be easier to just plug it into the AUX since the iPod has a special jack.

Right but the premium HU has a thing that allows you to choose to operate a ipod from either the HU and steering wheel or the ipod itself. So if you were to plug in from the ipod jack you could possibly set to control it from the HU and steering wheel.
