Hi all, I'm new to Scikotics so sorry in advance for any posts I make that may have been covered already.
Anyways, I just bought an '08 black berry crush xB, imported to Canada and I have done a few small mods (window tint, DIY lip, DIY eyelids, and more stuff that is posted in my profile. What I am looking to do next is a little more ambitious and could cost me if I screw up so I was looking for two thing: Suggestions and help finding a cheap front bumper. I want to cut the "SCION" lettering into the section of the bumper that most guys vinyl black (which I plan on doing soon). I then want to inset plexiglass or just form it to the backside of the bumper, then illuminate the plexi with LEDs so that it would result in glowing Scion lettering (same font as the emblem). It's hard to explain in words so I whipped up this crude shopped photo.
I would like to practice on a different bumper that can be in crappy condition so if any of you guys have or know someone with an extra bumper or know of a wrecker with one on the cheap I would love you for a heads up.
Thanks!

Nice!

Your bumper idea reminds me of my Aurora Garnish! You're idea will work bro, trust me. it's how I did my first test run garnish.

Thanks, I had a Look at your Garnish and I'm liking it. I think I'm going to inset mine a bit more just to make it look more "carved in" or "boxy" and make it a low blue glow. I think i'll just pick up a junk bumper from any old car with similar surface type and give it a practice run. I'll post pics with results.

Thanks bro! My second one should be done in time for Scion Night at Knott's next month. As for yours, yeah, just pick up some surface piece that is the same material as the OEM bumper and do a test run. Hit me up if you have questions or want to bounce ideas.

There are a few classic xBs with this mod. Kinda cool if it's done right and that's the look your going for.
