Yeah, I obviously didnt read the question correctly. I was running NGK Iridium (1 step colder) , ran into problems 200 miles later and switched to V Power and haven't had an issue since. Iridiums are controversial though. Some people swear by them and others will tell you that they are complete shit.

Don't tCs come with Iridium? And are you still running 1step cold?

I'm pretty sure stock spark plugs are platinum (I could be wrong on that). And no.

whats the difference between unichip and aem f/ic?

whats the difference between unichip and aem f/ic?

Programablility.

Unichip comes with a set tune for a specific setup. If you mess with the settings too much, you will have to send it off to get it retuned. On top of that, there are hardly any tuners that are familiar with the Unichip; let alone comfortable enough to mess with it.

With Aem fi/c you can take your vehicle up to a local tuner and get your new tune done quickly. There are a vast amount of tuners that are very familiar with this software, so it's not hard to find one. This means you have more options and the ability to tweak to your preference as far as the tune goes, without any hassle.

Either way, stand alone is better choice; but they are both good products. I can't speak for the Unichip personally, since I run fi/c, but I haven't heard any bad reviews for it yet.

Looking at a spark plug box right now from the dealer, they are iridium from factory.

Hey streetsweeper, how many pounds of boost you running right now? Whats your HP?

-ish. both are in the range of $500-550, depending on where you purchase. Unichip reflashes are about $100.

Unichip? Not 100% sure but I think it plugs in the OBD2 port.

If you are doing a piggyback, you need to wire it into the ECU. You can either get a PnP harness which is around $300 the last time I checked or you can do it the hard way and wire it in. I wired my F/IC in myself. As long as you take your time and quadruple check everything before and after cutting, you'll be fine.

My car after wiring:

Also, just as a FYI, I ran NGK Iridium one step colder and the F/IC and loved it. I highly recommend the F/IC to anyone looking at installing a turbocharger and isn't planning on a full stand alone. It is super easy to program and always worked great.

If I could get one cheap I'd love to get one to try some NA tuning. That and I have some evil ideas for the tC.
