I have went through this already, it sucks. The bulb socket has three connections in it. One is a ground, one is a brake, and one is the marker. On the bulb there are 4 connections 2 on each side probably. 2 of them are grounds and the other 2 are the brake and marker. You have to figure out which 2 are the grounds and bend them around to make the right contacts in the socket. It took me forever to figure it out and i messed a bulb up and had to take it apart and solder it. so be careful not to break the little wires that you bend. I hope you get what i am saying, cause like i said it sucks. I took a test light and figured out what was what in the socket on the car and bent the bulb wires around to touch the connections in the socket. If you look in the socket you can kinda see how you need to bend the wires to make it work. Hope this helps some.

I bought LED bulbs from autolumination.com, put them in the stock tails, and had zero issues . . . Must just be the bulbs you got.
