What is this OEM provided cable for?

I was looking through my Scion storage box and found this cable. I remember getting it with the xB...but don't remember what part of the iPod system it is used for. And since I don't use an iPod...I don't have a way to check.

Its so you can control an ipod with the factory radio controls. I believe one side connects to an ipod and the other side plugs into the center console. I don't use ipods or factory radios so I threw my away. Actually I didn't but I have no use for it. If anyone needs it let me know. I'll give it away no charge.

I have a 06.5 xB with the iPod and AUX connector in the center console and only use the AUX for the Sansa (http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item%282453%29-SDMX10R-8192K-A70-SanDisk_Sansa_View_MP3_Player_8GB.aspx). So, this cable was a mystery.
