Does anyone know the firing sequence of the 2az?
I tried to install my ignition harness and going by the instructions, an Inline 4cyl with individual ignition should be set at 1-3-4-2 (cylinders listed by channel, respectively from 1-4) So I wired it up, assuming that cyl1 was ch1, cyl3 was ch2, cyl4 was ch3, and cyl2 was ch4...turn the key - no dice. Turn the key again, smells like gas, so I stop...wait a minute for the gas smell to go away, then disconnect the battery and start over. This time I figure "maybe the sequence is set internally by the ecu (meaning the ordering of the wires doesn't mean cyl1, 2, 3 and 4, but lists the actual firing order as in: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) - so instead of wiring ch2 from the e-manage to "cyl"3 on the ecu, I wire ch2 to ch2 on the ecu doing the same for the other wires as well....I reconnect everything, turn they key - nothing. try again - nothing. At this point I get sick because I think I fucked something up (like my coil packs, which are $$$$), so I take the ignition harness out, and connect the ecu wires back to their same-colored brethren (i.e. back to stock), and the car fires up right away - with a little pop from the build up of gasoline. Drove the car, and it runs fine. So no worries...HOWEVER - I need to get this harness installed so I can get the damn thing tuned properly.
DOES ANYONE have any information that could help me out? I followed GReddy's instructions to a T, but I think I'm misinterpreting the firing order chart, or they may have it wrong for the tC (considering the instructions were written in like 03, and the tC came out in 05...) - Would a dealership be willing to give me the info, you think?

A dealership would want nothing to do with the car. They will give you the firing order but thats about it. Call Greddy to find out what they mean by ch1, ch2...etc... and you should be able to tune it in just right. If you do as they say and it still doesn't work turn the KOEO and make sure the fuel pump is still working and then run a DMM on the coil packs between AB and the AC to see if you get a signal which should be 3-5V and 4,7,12V respectively

lol I have no idea what any of that means, but I know the stuff works - the car runs fine when I revert it back to stock. I'll give GReddy a call today and I'll call the dealership too - all I need is information. I would never let a dealership work on my car - not after those retards left the oil cap sitting in my engine bay after an oil change.
This was only supposed to be a 30 min install....lol

does this help?

nah - I have the ECU pinout (I have an 07 - that pinout is for the 05-06). I just don't know what the wire order refers to...if it's the cyl# or of it's the firing order...and once I figure that out, I need to know what GReddy means by ch1,2,3,4.
What I really need is for someone to tell me what color wire from the e-manage connects to what color wire on the ECU...that would help me immensely.

and the Ch1,2,3,4 are you refering to the dip switches on the side?

No, I think Eric's referring to the software itself.
Have you tried just setting it to "1234"? I think the emanage software knows the
If I bring up the map in my software, I see this:

I'm referring to the hardware/wiring, nick - I can't get to that part of the software yet.
according to GReddy's instructions, I have to wire the harness to the ECU in the correct firing order. Greddy says the firing order on the tC (not specific, but based on the ignition system we use) is t1, t3, t4, t2 - in order.
The emanage has wires for ch1-c4, and the ecu has wires that are labeled t1-t4. Should the e-manage be wired ch1 to t1, ch2 to t2, and so on? Or should I wire ch1 to t1, ch2 to t3, ch3 to t4, ch4 to t2?
I shouldn't really be asking that because I've wired it both ways, and neither works, so I'm forced to conclude that GReddy was wrong on the firing order of the tC.
Nick, if you get bored, you could follow the dk blue, yellow, orange, and purple wires from Connector A on your e-manage and see what wire they connect to. I would GREATLY appreciate it. :loveit:

Is it a plug and play harness or is there splicing involved.

nope - just the normal Greddy harness - gotta splice it.
Everything is cut and installed correctly - crimps are all secure - i'm pretty sure the only problem is the wire order.
I think I found the problem, but I'll try it first, and let you all know how it goes.

Any luck? if you really need me to I'll go look, but i think it's different cuz A) I have an '06, B) It's an Emanage ultimate, and C) It's a PnP harness so I'm not quite sure what's what.

and honestly you should buy a plug and play. cause one its cleanor looking and its already done by a professional and if your car blows up from that then its not your fault for bad wiring its the companies. and you dont have to mess with all the bs your doing now. just my opinion.:)

$305 is a ripoff IMO. And I'd rather do it myself because in case you've never had to experience it before, whenever it is another person's fault, it's always the ugliest, nastiest experience. Try to prove that it's dezod's fault when something goes wrong - you'll probably never convince dezod or a judge to the point where they replace your motor or ECU. You'll just waste your efforts, resources, and money dealing with it. Despite the plug-n-play aspect, they'll always claim operator error.
I know what I'm doing - I just caught a snag - I haven't had time to mess with it anymore, Nick, but I'll try one more option and if that doesn't work, then I would love your help. By looking at the harness, you should be able to follow the colored wires from the e-manage where they tap into the harness, then figure out what ECU wire plugs into the other side of the harness.
If you get bored, it's connector A - wire colors from emanage are blue, purple, orange, and yellow (two wires per color - one w/black stripe, one w/white stripe) - wire colors from ecu are pink, green, light green, and black. The way I initially wired it was blue-green, purple-pink, orange-black, and yellow-light green.
Thanks Buddy!!
