I was changing my oil yesterday and notice that there was some metal shavings in the bottom of the oil pan ,lots of them . I had a new pan so it had to come from the motor. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and when i call three dealers they told me that unless it broke they caint do nothing. So i dont know what to do and it still under warrenty but was thinking on tradeing it in but realy dont want to .

metal shavings can happen - it doesn't necessarily mean somethings broken (although on a car as new as yours, it may be a cause for concern), but take it in if the car starts making any new noises or if your temperature goes up.
To keep the shavings out of the oil, and out of the filter, get a magnetic plug. They work pretty good as long as the shavings are steel and not aluminum.

you can send a sample to blackstone laboratories if your realy worried bout it. or ask for a sample kit to test your oil. they will look at your oil and will tell you what the metal shavings are and what could be the cause of it. and will tell you what you can do to make your car run longer.
heres a link to there site.

Edit:Oh forgot to add erics right. some metal shavings happen on new cars. doesnt mean anything. its a new motor inside the engine things are just smoothing out. they dont deburr anything on the inside of the engine.

Shavings is a normal syptom of wear. Check your transmission pan as well. Small amounts is completely normal and ther's no need for concern. Testing oil can be expensive and a few day process if you send it to a lab.

... That's weird. Have you changed your Oil filter recently too?

That's something that should be done every oil change, however i will be very surprised if the oil filter is the cause of the shavings. Try to take off your valve cover to make sure the valve springs and rockers are still intact. If thats not the problem its in your internals. may have a craked skirt on one of your pistons, connecting rod rubbing against cylinder etc..

I change the filter with the oil every time.
