i dont think it injested water if its a sri,
that means in order to hydrolock your car the whole damn front engine would have to be in the water, and then, trying to start it would be the least of your worries, you have to almost totally submerge it (the filter) in water to get it to hydrolock.
I believe theres something else that happened....just IMO but who knows....ive seen crazier shit good luck man... :sorry::toast:

add some marvel mystery oil to it... it works wonders... if it got just a little bit of water and its not hydrolocked, it will help...

it should still crank though, if its just clicking then you have to dry everything out including your coilpacks(hairdryer). once you get it to start cranking if you hear nasty sounds then i would say you broke somethin, but if it sounds alright, pull the plugs and spit the remaining water out by cranking it. put it all back together and go from there. you might not have hydrolocked it enough to break anything.
worth a try, anythings better than broken rods.

ok new up date my battery was reading 12.5 last night now its under 9 volts i think i have a direct short. about to start blowing everything out. and heating( hair dryer) bb soon. man i hope nothing is broke. you would think if it was a rod it would have made a racket or bump. it just went dead like you cut the key off!!! strange

Yea, it would have made a pretty bad noise if it would have hydrolocked. I'd say it is something electrical. A little bit of water in the cylinders actually cleans out carbon build-up.

Sorry to hear about your xB, I'm praying for you that it's nothing major and it can be fixed. I would cry if something like that happened to mine. Good luck!

if you threw a rod, you would have heard it, and there would probably been a hole in your block. so if neither of those happened, let it dry then try again

I hydrolocked my Accord - when you crank the key, it'll click once and stop - it won't try to turn over. The reason is because there's water in the cylinders and the pistons can't compress water like they can air, so they're stuck. The first time it tries to compress that water, then engine stops, and that's why 2 plugs are wet and 2 are dry - two tried to compress water while the other two pistons were either on the exhaust stroke or power stroke...keeping the plugs dry.
What I did with my accord was pull the plugs and crank the motor. It shot water out of the cylinders about 3ft ahead of the car. Then I drained the oil - it looked like coffee with creamer in it - dark brown with light brown swirls in it.
Hydrolocking destroys exhaust valves/retainers most of the time. It can also bend rods and throw your crankshaft out of balance (including broken main bearings). 90% of the time they replace the motor because the labor to replace broken parts is way beyond the cost of a motor.
I got my accord to start and it would run as long as I kept the gas pedal pressed...smelled so rich of gasoline...and would die as soon as I let of the gas. Didn't have time to diagnose the problem there because I just had the car towed to a junkyard (wasn't worth anything to me or anyone else, trust me lol). My guess was that water got in the exhaust (because of the bent exhaust valves) and fouled my o2 sensor, confusing the ECU...resulting in a rich run, and the bent exhaust valves didn't allow for proper compression, allowing lots of fuel to leak into the exhaust on the compression stroke of the motor.
So from my own personal experience - it sounds like you hydrolocked it. Strange to hear since you have a short ram intake...but doesn't mean it's not possible. Did you catch a wave over the front of the car? Water can cause voltage issues too, but that's a whole new topic lol.

dang turbo slow down typing.lol well there was almost no water in the cylinders and it would not turn over! it would just click. then yesterday i put the cables back on it again and the starter just free spun like the solonoid was not ingaging. i think the water in the intake would not have happen if the starter would not have gotten wet. i think it shoved the bendix into the flywheel and the starter had a dead ground. when it went dead it was like you just cut the key off no other sounds. its at the shop now i will tell ya what they find

ok new update!!!! the box is dead its locked up tight even water is in the header. so the truth about hydolocking it does not have to be under water to hydro lock!!!!!!!! apparently if enough water splashes on the filter it will do it makes me wearry about putting the sri back on when it comes home. i no i should have just drove around the other 8 miles. so a lesson learned and the thruth revilled. if i hear more i'll be back.

i recently injested water in my xb with my CAI..i was spraying my engine down to clean it and i guess i didnt give it enough time to dry i kinda soaked the bypass filter..took it in the dealership the had to replace #1 cylinder spark and coil pack they tested it then they found the piston was cracked and the rod was bent. the stealership requested a new short block but the insurance guy requested them to replace the piston and rod instead. when they did this the compression on the first piston did not hold. there might have been something wrong with the cylinder wall. to make a long story short im getting a brand new short block and VVT-i and the insurance will only cover this incident once...which really sucks

yeah i hear that course they have not as yet decided what to do. or at least i have not been told yet. i hope its a new short block. guess i will just have to wait and see

Hell, sounds like you came ahead on that deal :mro: Something similar happend to a friend of mine who has an '04 Celica- he drove it into a really deep puddle in the middle of a thunderstorm and hydrolocked it (this is with the stock intake, mind you.) He got a brand new engine out of the deal, so he was pretty happy after it was all over!
