I've searched and have asked around about MO not requiring front plates as of 8/28. Has anyone heard if this went into effect or not?

Haven't heard one way or another. I know a few people still have gotten tickets after the 28th though. Also from what I've read not having front plates only applies to those people issued one plate. Anyone issues 2 plates still must have both displayed.

Hmm? That would seem to make sense. I wouldn't take mine off until I knew for sure but if others want to donate to this beautiful state of ours, by all means, be my guest! :p I did just ask a few friends of mine who are officers and they haven't heard anything official about it so I guess for now it's best to assume it didn't pass. ;)

man i wish i knew for sure because mine still has a temp tag and it would be nice if i didnt have to have a front plate because the front bumper of a tc dosent even look like its suppose to have one and it looks awkward on there.lol

I hear you there! It would clean up the look on the front of our cars! If we are still required to have one it looks best if you mount them on the lower grill justified either left or right. I'd mount mine there if the damn dealership didn't put two holes in my bumper already. Grrrr!

2dot said it was a passed law.

but so far since the 28th. me and trevor have been pulled over 4 times for it already. all 4 times have been let go but the cops said they havn't heard about it at all.

i'm keepin mine on. i get pulled over anyways just driving by a cop, so i just need to minimize my problems.

you think they would have something like that emergency broadcast system so that all the police in missouri know that especially arnold there not the nicest cops in the bunch

They typically send out bulletins but wether or not every officer reads then is another story. Yeah Arnold po-po's think they're gangsta still! It's just a matter of them messing with the wrong person and a lawsuit being filed, then their attitude will change! ;)

Ordanice 301.30 or something like that states that missouri no longer requires front license plate. i cant find the link right now because my school blocks stuff. but its on the website like senate.mo.gov or something like that.

on that website it states that the law was "do pass" on august 20th to be in effect on august 28th.

OK I am here to save the day on this one. Austin took his front plate off and got pulled over for it. So I don't recomend doing this. Now for the proof, I had to get some tags for the buick I just bough and guess what? They gave me two plates. But in the heat of the moment with me and the DMV I forgot to ask about that. My bad.

That's messed up because when I read the new law about that it said that as of August 28th front plates were no longer required and anyone that tagged a vehicle after August 28th would not be given 2 plates anymore. They need to make up their minds on what they are doing.

From what I've heard and understand it may of been passed by the "Transportation Committee" but not passed into law. :dontknow:

From my understanding it was passed into law but the state police commission is not allowing it due to they would have to retrain all the officers other ways of catching speeders because they aim at the front plate ....

What I don't get is none of the speed guns used in mo are calibrated for light reflection they are based on laser targeting or heat deference

What I was told it is law

Allegedly this will be voted on, then maybe passed into law here in the next few months. Not official but just what I've heard from sources. ;) :dontknow:

I might need to invest in a new bumper, since mine has an indent of my license plate for when that lady hit me and i hit krissy lol.

that's the only reason why i'm keeping mine on atm. lol.
