Well 9 months have gone by and D-Day is almost upon us ... the ride is going to the bodyshop on Monday, so I figured I would Start to Leak spy pics, to de-value the ones being sold on E Bay. :rofl2:
Just installed the Air Suspension, out of need more than necessity, due to the weight being added to this vehicle. Well here is where I sit on 19's, 20's will go on once it leaves the shop ..

Here is a look at nearly the final revision of the dashboard.

This weekend I will be installing my new roof, pictures of that to follow as well as the remaining interior pics. Enjoy, and feel honored that you all, my new family are the first to see these pics. They will not be posted anywhere else .. :md:

No Scion logos ... the center dash is incorporating a 10" screen. The ovals are more symbolic, the truck is themed around college football and therefore ovals, "footballs" are present throughout the vehicles theme.

Like all show cars, all the work gets done @ the zero hour .. for the past month we have been working on this thing in shifts. Acrew works from 8-7pm, another takes over @ 8pm and works until 5am.
Sad, that it always happens this way. I felt that a couple hours a day and we would have gotten the truck done a whole lot faster.

The wheels are MOD's 20 x 7, kinda look like the ones I have in the pic but 20". The dash has one 10" screen in the oval, behind mirrored plexi, another in the airbag, and 8 more screens of different sizes throughout the rear custom enclosure and door panels.

Well here is the worst news I've had to deliver regarding my xB. This truck has 10 days to be completed, if its not bosyshop ready within that time, I am being forced to steal my own truck back from this shop and finish it myself. Most likely costing me several more K's. I give this news with a heavy heart, not only because I have missed most of the 2006 show schedule, but it will likely destroy a friendship in the course.
As I come to grips with the reality of this build I have learned a couple things.
-Keep it simple, it may not be the best in the eyes of others, but you will be happy because its done ...
-If indeed you want to shock the world with what you can do, expect it to take 4 times as long as the longest deadline you can imagine and three times the most expensive estimate you recieve.
-And last but not least, it's hard to yell at friends, especially when you need them.
These are the lessons I have learned while building this xB. Once done it will be the most unique B in the country, however I may not live to see it on the road ....
And to answer the trailer queen question. It will be driven, however the complexity of some of the modifications make it impractical to keep as a daily driver, but the primary reason to keep it in the A/C, is that I cannot trust drivers not to slam into this thing and definately do not trust my insurance company to pay me what she's worth.
With my revised gameplan and new build team waiting in the wind, we have set a realistic goal of having this vehicle ready for HIN Miami, that would make 15 months under construction and incapacitated.
Thanks ... I feel better now ... :x:
Laterz ..
