What's the deal with our SC Scikos? I have been a Sciko fo a lil over a year. I don't see a lot of activity in SC chapters at all. It just looks like the majority of our chapters are really struggling right now. I have looked into several Scion only clubs and see the same thing. I live in the upstate of SC and I EAT, SLEEP, and BREATH anything that has ta do with our rides! I have a family and I am also a Christ follower. These are the only things that come before my passion for cars. Is this a club that feels the same way? I am not angry @ all. I just wanna be a part of something that's 4 real and not just ur average club. Any feedback would b awesome. Thanks. L8r.

I know our chapter seems dead, but really aren't. A lot of people down here don't use the boards and we stick with facebook more than anything!

You know I'm here...and u have to understand the current situations peeps are facing...it unfortunately some people are having to put several priorities above the club and can't find the time or motivation to dedicate...I know I've had a moment like this...I had a lease up in august and for 3 months didnt know if I was gonna have a place to live, and if it wasn't for my beautiful fiancee, I wouldn't...I was off the boards for about 3 months, but im back and stronger than ever...its all a cycle man, as long as we are sciko at heart, its all gravy...

There's a show @ Toyota of Gastonia on Sunday the 26th...Gastonia should be about an hour away from you. There should be a bunch of different people there from around the area if you're interested in meeting up!
If you come, see you there!

With (another) unexpected change of plans . . .
My weekend off on the 25/26 is no more . . .
I'll have to miss BOTH the autocross AND the show . . .

As for the chapters . . .
It looks like the "new economy" has hit us VERY hard.
From what I can tell, all the SC chapters have had to restructure w/ people stepping down and extreme difficulty getting together like everyone used to do.
I've either had no money or no time AND very little money, for more than a year now. Now, Anthony/Tonedeff is the HMFIC of Columbia and we are hoping everyone shows back up (if not, I'll step down from V of numbers don't emerge to justify the position).
It looks like Greenville is the same.
I don't know about MB, but they've been more quiet on here than normal.
ChuckTowne is doing well, from what I've been able to gather.
We will all bounce back soon enough, I know we all will.

Anthony is planning to start an annual Cancer-related show in October and I'd like to have a late-winter show and a mid-summer show.
The mid-summer/hang-out show will be "Scikotics in Hell," b/c Columbia is SO hot in summer that there is an old rumor that the gate of hell is somewhere in the area (some site the basement of several state government buildings- HAHAHA).
For those who don't know (outta staters) Columbia is the state capital, often nicknamed "Capital City" (even was the name of the baseball team before they moved to Greenville- the Capital City Bombers, in reference to the MAJOR WW2 training base there for B-25 crews). It is also several degrees hotter than the surrounding area and often the hottest place in the state.
South Carolina also has a second claimant to being the real Gate of Hell, MacCormick, SC (near the GA line between Augusta and Anderson/Clemson. There is a specific rock clump/formation that locals REFUSE to go near, also claiming it is hotter there then elsewhere in that county.

I would like to note that due to an abbreviated time frame and the upcoming holidays, it looks like the planning of the show has been pushed to hopefully early next year....HOWEVER, October IS breast cancer month and next year its on like donkey kong...for those who don't know, my mother is a survivor, and that is my motivation to put together one kickass show, and I hope all SC scikos can make it out, whenever it may be...

Y'all,
Just check out my thread "What the?????!!! on the columbia chapter area and you'll see why some of us are not on board as much.
Times are tough and some of us more mature (old) members have obligations and things coming up that go with being a generation in front of most of y'all.
Please be patient and plan smaller more family oriented events farther in advance and try to emphasize self reliance on these get togethers. Picnics, festivals the upcoming blues festival in columbia this month.
