Scion Pinups 2010

So Scion Pinups will be held on October 16th this year in Springfield, MO. I wanted to see who all was interested in going. We typically caravan down together. It's pretty fun in itself. For more info on the show, click on the link below:

I hope a lot of you will be able to go! I hear Alex Millen of Wilson Toyota/Scion and ScinergyIA will be one of the judges this year, so props to him! This is a little bit a drive, but it's a really good time and an awesome show!

This is my first time to this show. What should I know for this one? I've got Friday through Monday plus my regular Tuesday off for this.


It's about 350 miles from Des Moines, so quite a bit further for you, but worth it nonetheless. We typically caravan to these shows together leaving earlyish in the morning so we have plenty of time to do stuff when we get there. We use walkie talkies on the way down because it's a lot easier than trying to call everyone for one statement or question.

The hotel isn't too far from the dealership where the show is. On Saturday Scott Horberg will give us tokens to wash up at an awesome car wash, then we head over to the Steak N Shake for a shine n dine event. Shine N Dine events are held monthly down there, but this one will mostly be Scions I bet. Scott also paid for food last year, so I'm thinking that is fairly typical for this show.

Sunday we register early because last year they gave out work shirts to the first 50 (I think) who registered and everyone got a t-shirt as well. You clean and show for a little while, then they open the judging bay doors (their delivery bay at the dealership) and roll in. After judging, we drove about a mile away to a photography studio for professional photos. They're reasonably priced and great quality. You can order all the pics and products you want from a single pic to decks of cars, plaques, etc.

After the pics (if you choose to have them done) you can continue to show your car and eat free food that is catered. The awards are around 3 or 3:30 I think and they give away gift certificates and a lot of extra stuff they have. I think you can buy more raffle tix, but I don't remember there being a place to buy them...

The winners of the show are typically chosen to be the main 12 pics of the pinups calendar they make. Pretty much all cars are in it though. The year before last it was a straight forward calendar, last year they made a magazine that had the calendar inside it. Both are awesome and I'm interested to see what they do this year.

After the show you're free to do whatever you want, I know Courtney and I will definitely head home at that point. We have to work that next day...

I'll try and make a MN thread but I really don't think anyone from MN is going. Kary was going to but there happens to be a charity event at his work the same day. Pete was going to go but he just started striping his tC so that means he is out.

I don't care if I'm stuck with the floor. I could care less.
