So . . .
I don't usually post in here much. Well, I'm pretty happy w/ simple suspension and wheel upgrades, so don't see much need to.
What I have done to my 09 xB "KwikSilver":
14 pound, 16-inch rims w/ BF Goodrich Sport 225/50/16 rubber.
Hotchkis sways
TRD springs (just installed) and strut bar

Now . . .
When installing my springs, I noticed that the driver side front strut was pretty weak, while the passenger side wasn't.
That led me to wonder . . .
What is the expected life of a strut like this?
(I'm used to a COMPLETELY different suspension system and life-spans- namely double wishbones and shock-in-coil on all four corners.)

When should I expect to replace the struts/shocks and what are good ones?

I say it all depends on how you drive and the conditions of the road. On a stock set up(shocks/struts and springs) I would say around 50k miles. Just push down on whatever corner of your car...it should only bounce once up and down and settle. If it keeps bouncing, then I would replace them. Leaks are a dead giveaway.
