heres a write up for my ksport coilover install.

PREP
1. Reserve an afternoon, because getting them on is easy, adjusting them takes some time.
2. Buy a case beer, and keep in cooler close to you.
3. Inspect new coilovers and make sure you have everything.

Tools required:
17mm socket
14mm open end wrench
19mm socket and wrench
Allen wrench set ( dont remember exact sizes)
Acouple of jacks
Jack stands
large flat head screwdriver
rubber mallet
Bud Light
A friend to help

Lets get started!!
1. Start in the rear.
2. loosen lug nuts, jack up box from rear center jack point, put on jack stands and take wheels off.
3. Get under car and and use the 17mm socket and take nut off of lower shock mount.

4. Once nut is off you should be able to wiggle it off. Once the shock is loose, the spring will probably just fall out.

5. Do the same for both sides. once both springs are out and and the shocks are loose, you can move to the top of the rear shock. oem uses two locking 14mm nuts. break them loose, and take them off and have your friend pull the shock out.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/TastyTuner/coilover%20install/14mm.jpg

6. Now you can start the rear coilover install. take the rear lower coilover perch and take the big bolt and plate off the bottom of them.

7.Next you will put the top perch in the seat and thread the bolt with the plate through the bottom of the seat.

this is what it should look like when its together.

8. Now put the spring in the coilover perch. the directions from ksport said to adj the ride height then install the shocks accordingly. so thats what we did.

9. Once we selected a ride height, we put the shock in by uses the provided 17mm top nut and reusing the bottom 17mm nut and washer, and went for test drive. which we found out i was way too low.

10. we readjusted and tightened everything down and BAM!! your done witht the rear.

PAUSE FOR BEER

Front coilover install.

1. we started by loosing the lug nuts and jacking the car up. in this scenario we left the box on the jacks. once wheels are off, its time to play again.

2. start by loosing and taking off the 19mm nut and bolt from shock. also the 14mm that holds the brake lines to the back of the shock.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/TastyTuner/coilover%20install/frontstrut19mm.jpg

3. once those are off, be careful because the the hub will want to wander all over. now you can move to the top.. boo.

4. take the three 14mm nuts off and the shock spring assembly should wiggle out.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/TastyTuner/coilover%20install/everyonesfav.topthree14mmshocktowernuts.jpg

5. now we move to the coilover. we did a side by side with the stock shock and the coilover and adjusted the coilover accordingly. we also busted out a tape measure to make sure they were the exact same height.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/TastyTuner/coilover%20install/adjustingrideheightoncoiloveralotsh.jpg

6. now that is done you can install. which is the same as taking it out, with the exception that we had to use another jack to lift the lower control up to the coilover.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/TastyTuner/coilover%20install/newfrontcoiloveralittleshort.jpg

7. do the same for both sides. at this time we realized that the coilovers did not have a mounting point for the brake lines. they do provide little bendable brackets so thats we we did.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/TastyTuner/coilover%20install/wentaheadandwrappedbrakelinesforext.jpg

8. once all that is done, we dropped the box. DAMN!! too low, i couldn't turn.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/TastyTuner/coilover%20install/frontcoiloversincantmove.toolow.jpg

9. so we readjusted the ride height. which is easy said then done. and then tightened every thing down. this is also where you use the flat head and hammer, the directions told us to tighten everything first with the provided wrenches, then set the flat head in the locking perch and give it a tap.

10. once eveything is buttoned up. you should be good to go.

3am- finally done adjusting and closing up shop

i don't know if this is the same procedure for all coilovers, but it worked fine for us. all in all it took maybe an hour for total install, and about 3.5 for adjusting everything and taking small drives to check for excessive rubbing.

if you have any comments or questions, feel free to ask. also if i have left anything out, i will update.

better pix of the car and other new things next week.
