Someone hit my car in a parking lot...cost of repairs???

Walked out to my car in the college parking lot Friday afternoon and noticed that I had been clipped on the left side of my rear bumper near the wheel well. The paint was knocked off all the way to the plastic. So I walked over to the car parked to my left and sure enough the old Ford Taurus' front bumper was screwed up and had my black paint on it. Here's pics:

I just took my car off full coverage so I filed a police report and the cops are arguing that just because my black paint is on her bumper doesn't prove she hit my car. http://www.yoursciontc.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif So it looks like I'll be payin' for it. FML.

So how much do you guys think this will cost me? I also had the paint screwed up on the other side too from when I let my girlfriend drive my car and she hit a pole. I may just redo the rear bumper completely.

To spray the whole rear bumper should be about 300 bucks at a reputable shop.

I had something similar happen to me, but not as bad. I have a couple dimples in the middle of my rear bumper and some scratches. A shop quoted me about $360 or so to fix it and paint it. I can't remember if that includes the removal of the bumper or not because I told them I could do it to save some money.

That's a good idea actually. I get really stressed letting shops work on my car anyway if I'm not watching or helping. I was scared they'd break my rear bumper.

MAACO has a special going on this week $139.99 and they have all 4 and 5 star reviews here so I'm dropping my car off there. I'll keep the receipt for the police report.

A few years ago, we had 3 older cars and needed up replace at least one of them. So, we checked the book values.
At the time:
1997 Ford Taurus- $1200
1995 Chrysler Cirrus- $1500

1990 Miata- lowest I saw was $3,000 . . .
So, the oldest was worth more than the other 2 put together. Not that the other 2 were worth much, anyways . . . or good cars . . .
We ended up selling the other 2 for $500/each to folks that desperately needed semi-reliable cars (for both, it was a HUGE upgrade from the broken-down shop-queens they had before- Plus, both are still being used). The Miata is still MINE!

Yep, I don't know what year that ford was but it was around there 97-00, too bad I didn't get money out of it. It wasn't that much to fix tho. MAACO had that special this month. I'm probably gonna redo my front bumper too because bugs destroyed it during my 10 hour drive to South Padre and back.

i got damage from christmas thats going to cost me im going to have to get a body kit and possibly repaint the car.

Finda a MAACO in your area. 139.99 to repaint bumpers until September 30th.
