Does anybody autocross or do "track days" in their xB?
I might start doing Time Trials with NASA and I was wondering if anyone drove their xB's.

If you plan on puttin it on the track, stiffin up that sub frame.. Sway bar, strut bar.. and MID tie bar FOR SURE.. I think it is Weapon R that makes some tie bars that go inside the cabin.

I am going to start auto cross in a month or so. I have a hookup in LINY, they meet every sat and sunday at the coliseum parking lot. I set up all my braces and suspension for it. Just waiting on my Sparco seat base so i can mount my seat and harness.

We can't autocross here in Indiana... Gen1 is on the black list.

I have sway bars, front strut tower and springs. I might get some new shocks/struts soon. I dont know what I would get. Other than that I dont plan on taking it too seriously, I just want to see how it does vs other cars.

Thats cool man, maybe I should do a few autocross events in it before hitting the track.

Both SCCA and NASA here in Arizona will let just about anything autocross or drive on the track, just as long as your not driving wreckless or too abrupt that would cause a tip/roll over.

So what all has been done to the b?
-Injen short ram air intake
-DC sports ceramic header
-Tanabe Medalion Touring axleback exhaust
-Perrin aluminum crank pulley
-TRD springs
-TRD front strut bar
-Hotchkis sway bars
-Enkei RPF1 15x7 wheels
-Hankook K106 195/55/15 tires
-JDM Broadway rearview mirror
I will probably just get some better tires. Nothing major...its a automatic. I can take some weight out of the car, back seat etc...

auto doesnt matter it is mostly the driver. I have a auto tc with a
dg sway
drilled and slotted rotors
full exhast
and i was posting faster times than a new sti, a bmw m3 , and two new civic si, one was stock and the other had springs, exhaust and he said a retune. It is mostly about driver skill at the small level and it is for fun. what kinda tires are you thinking about getting?

I just signed a petition for a track that is trying to be opened on Long Island. Kind of a Englishtown type set up. Quarter mile and autocross.

Thats cool. We are very spoiled here in Arizona...we have many race tracks around here.

I went to Phoenix International Raceway this weekend for a NASA event. I was driving my bmw 3 series but I seen a second generation Scion xB on the track during one of the HPDE sessions, so I decided to time it. There was a lot of traffic on track but it was running 1:34-1:35 lap times. The track is 1.5 mile 9 turn road course and uses the NASCAR turns 3 and 4 of the oval. For a comparison, I was running 1:20s.

RACE VIDEO - may be addictive!!
For the xB racers, the video shows real time chase. Vehicle in front is xB rs2.0 and is very well stiffened along with the tCs that are chasing behind... hope you enjoy the video its from 2005..
Drove a mountain road like this in Oregon that crossed the Batchlor Mountain/Three Sisters Mountain range, the west side of that (descent) was very spooky... only wish I was in my xA!!
