dude ... but ... ok yea, its a fast xA
but realistically ... can you throw down a few thousand mods, and legitimately compare it to a car sans the few thousand dollars in mods? Now if the other guy lines up and makes the race, sure, but lets keep the comparison to the people that said they could beat that particualr xA

We all know boosted tC can be very formidible in the import racing world, with boost ... and nos ...
just like an xA can smoke a tC ... with boost ... and nos ...

nevermind

how many tC's are ACTUALLY running low 14's as it is? a half a dozen??

wooopty do

duh  there is always gonna be cars faster than you but what population of you tCers has nos and are boosted. I am just pointing out that you can just underestimate us that is all. I am proud to go slow....

ugh, nevermind.

ugh, nevermind.

i was at the hardware store today.. this kid behind the counter looks out the window at my car and asks "do you have racing seats in that car?" i say yes, and he asks "is it fast?" .. "no"... "then what's the point?" he asks..

:D trying to explain autocross to a street ricer is about as fun as lighting your own ballsack on fire and putting it in a snake cage.. kinda reminds me of the tC boys.. all think they have the fastest shit on the road.. forgetting it's heavier than the camry, and the camry would hand them their ass in style :D

ratio of "worked" tC's to "worked" xA's?

10:1

Ratio of tCs to xAs? probably somewhere in that 10:1 range ...

That xA had a VERY shitty reaction time.

14s isn't too shabby for the xA, but how much money does it cost a person to put an xA in the low 14s? Is it even worth it?

I had a 1990 Eagle Talon Tsi, I gutted the cat and put a bleeder valve on the wastegate actuator. I was getting low 13s until I sent the turbo in to get refinished at Turbonetics for around $250 and was able to hit 12.75 consistently.

Yeah, you could argue that the Talon was designed for speed... but to me it just seems like a waste of money to dump into this engine to get such little results. I like the Blitz supercharger, but ain't in no hell way I'm gonna pay $3000 for something that would prove great results for any other car besides ones equipped with our 1.5L VVTi engine.

But hey, to each his own. Perhaps all this toolin around will get some engineer out there to think of a better HP per $ answer to some speed.

Point taken but If you have the money to burn and are trying to be different then why not.

I hear ya, hell I would LOVE to have that Blitz supercharger on my car, it looks like it belongs there.

Being different is great, I try to be different by keeping my RS1 as stock as possible.

I just have a hard time trying to comprehend the performance options for our VVT-i engine. I didn't have a lot of money back when I owned my 90 Eagle Talon. Several friends through many DSM performance connections helped me squeeze as much HP out of my 4G63 without spending rediculous amounts of money. This Blitz supercharger goes for nearly $3000 on many sites I check. I forgot the numbers, but it adds what, 30~50 horses? The same for the turbo set-ups, I can't imagine it being much different. If I had $3000 when I had my Talon, I'd easily be able to get that car down into the 11s.

$3000 for 30 horses, that $100 per every horsey...

I guess my biggest gripe is for these damn companies to hold off on the damn superchargers and turbos and work on the engine first. Let's get a performance T/B out there, an intake manifold... etc. These quicky chargers should be the icing on the cake, making it worthwhile to spend that $3000 when you allready have a car that does a decent 1/4 pass, naturally aspirated. I would love to squeeze more HP out of this engine, but I just can't shit out $3000. I hope companies out there will design some goodies for those of us that have a thin wallet.

The TC's are in a completely different class. xa & xb's are in the world of the mini's. What can you do w/ a mini? That's the question. Not which car can beat which car. The TC's only have us to pick on because everyone else is kicking their ass! (almost) Stay out of the mini battle and start fighting in your own weight class.

I'm gonna try to get a 400 Big Block in the hatch just as a back up en-Jine :-)

I don't mind the fact that mine does what it does...and that's drive normal .. lol. Hell, let em pass me...I still look good

haha yeah it probably would be around 20 seconds. I ran the 1/8 strip where I used to live and the fastest time I think was like 10.2 or 10.3 and all i have in the engine is cold air intake, catback exhaust and a light weight crank pulley. doesnt seem like it helps much. oh well, there's always autocross!!

That blitz SC is pretty freakin awesome!
Does anyone know which way (S/C, Turbo, Nitrous) would be safer for the motor? Considering if they all only gave 30 horses extra.

safest... supercharger...

But safe is only as good as your tune.

And belt driven superchargers take hp to add hp...
