Morning All,
Ok imma keep it simple I have a 2010 XB and I will be attempting my 1st amp install to my factory HU.... I would like to hear from those XB2 owners or anyone else who has the 2010 Pioneer HU in their car and connected an amp to it...
I hear we already have the pre-out amp connections and dont need a L.O.C (line out converter) can anyone confirm?
Also I just really need to know what I would need to get or look out for when installing the amp to my stock HU on the car... I know allot of 08 and 09 members have done it and used the LOC but I hear 2010 does not require it so please if there are any audio gurus out there that can help it would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

Are you looking at adding a 4 channel amp for your door speakers or just a sub amp? I'm pretty sure there are only sub outputs on the 2010 HU. I'd have to pull mine out to check.
Also what size amp are you running? I always run 4gauge amp kits cause it allows for expandability.

Good Ol' Josh.. I knew I should have hit you up before posting this... nah I am adding subs, its a basic setup... I guess some would consider it a decent starter amp and sub box lol- subs are 2 10" Kenwoods 1000W each and a 2 channel mono amp also from kenwood but i dont remember the wattage sorry... I think its 2000W (or is it a 1000w I dont remember) I dont have an amp kit yet as I want to get all the info I can before buying an amp kit... I got the subs and amp for free so hey I cant complain for the price I paid lol
Edit
Amp Info:
Kenwood KAC-8104D
Mono subwoofer amplifier
500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
1000 watts peak
Speaker Info:
Kenwood KFC-W2511
power range: 50-300 watts RMS (1,000 watts peak power)
I know its an old school setup but it sounds so bad a$$ got it off someone I know who took it out his legend

Yeah i would run 4 gauge amp kit for power and ground cause then you'd have the ability to pretty much run any amp unless you decide to go for colossal bass.
All you'll need is:
- 4 guage amp kit
- 1 set of 2 channel RCAs
- a little bit of speaker wire to run from you amp to the sub box
- remote turn on wire. (just tap it onto the radio accessory wire (which is switched))
after all that you should be good to go
any other questions you know where to find me :):bangin:
EDIT
Nothin wrong with old skool man.

Well once again you have come thru and I thank you bro!!
Ok I got everything and it all seems fairly easy to do... minus the remote turn on wire... (I always had my stereo installed professionally but I finally grew a pair and decided to get more DIY haha) do you know which one off hand I would need to look for (or perhaps a picture lol j/k) I dont mean to sound like I am asking for to much but if you can remember which color is the remote wire I would appreciate it I plan to work on it possibly this weekend... speaking of which you coming out to the Lehigh meet @ Sonics?... I am going since I will be in the area ne hows

Radio Ignition gray + radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 3
is what you can tap onto behind the radio to use as a remote turn on. and use like a 16 or 14 guage wire (can use hookup wire from walmart as the wire)
I will be at the Lehigh Meet as well. We can meet up before hand and work on it.
If you want/need some help i can help ya
and don't worry about "asking too much" i'm always willing to help

Not really any one to "stay away from" I've always used either JL or Rockford Fosgate amp kits. Mainly cause they are always the most accessable.
