I think it depends where you live on tinted tailights, I'm not sure about tinted headlights though

It usually just depends on how dark you go. I'm pretty sure as long as they can be seen during the day your okay. I've never been pulled over for it, but I'm sure if there was a cop right behind me when I used the brakes I'd get pulled over... their really dark. I just need to gloss them

the paint for the taillights....it is called nightshades you can buy it at a parts store. during the day it looks dark but the paint is transparent and you can see the lights perfecally through it. i use it on all my cars.

Yea when i was goin to put my s-techs on i changed my mind! THere fine to still have on the car! Just check them out if your car is got like 45,000 miles on them or more .. some cars wear fast dependin on the drving distance and road conditions!

my toyo mech. snagged me some camber bolts, cuz when i first got my s-techs on they could barely align it, now that its been almost a year now he says it would be bout impossible to align it without longer camber bolts.

remember to wait a few weeks before an alignment, cuz u gotta let the springs settle. or else your wastn ur muuula.

So no one has had any really problems with the stock struts and s-techs yet? I know you all said it depends on road conditions and what not, but has anyone blown their stock struts really fast due to the road conditions in their area?

hey when you installed them did you cut the bumpstop. i know ur suppose to and i didnt and my friend has the same one and he has 18" rims and still sits lower then mine. but im going to do it next weekend but i need to know what side you keep. this is me and my buddies car.

cutting your bumpstops is unnecessary for anything less than a 3" drop. All it does is allow for more shock travel on severely lowered cars so you're not constantly tapping your bumps....2.5" isn't anything to worry about.

I don't recommend it because you're cutting something you don't have to - when you do bottom out, you're going to feel it that much more, and by taking away half of the bumps, you've taken away half of the protection. They're there for a reason - to pad the impact of hard suspension components to prevent damage. Think of it like a stuntman - They could take away half of the landing pad to give him an extra 3' of fall time, but with half the padding, he's twice as likely to hit pavement. Just my .02 - not even s-techs lower your car enough to necessitate cutting the bump stops.

Oh, and to those of you who tint your tail lights - you know it only takes like 10 minutes to open the lamps and paint the inside, right? It darkens them the exact same but you keep that factory gloss on the tail lights. I don't know why so many people paint the outside of the lamp...

ok i understand that then y does it say to cut it one the instrutions it comes with? i already took pics of it now and when i cut them ill take more pics and see if there is a difference. like i said before my car is higher then my buddys and he has s-techs AND 18" which i only have 17" rims.

I don't know why it suggests it - I've had a 2.5" drop with stock bumpstops and never had a problem.

the reason your car is higher is because you need to wait for the springs to settle - you get an extra .3" drop after a couple weeks just from the springs settling.

those springs i have are used. the guy had them on for 3 months so there pretty worn in. it just doest make sence.

are you comparing ride height or the spacing between the wheel and the fender?

HyPnOtIk
02-18-2008, 03:54 AM
S Techs are only a 2.4" front and 2.0" in the back so you shouldnt have to cut your bumpstops for that . Mine arent and my car sits perfect .

I'm just starting to get into fixing up cars etc, how is the ride? I want to get coil overs but leaning towards tiens not sure if i want those 100% yet. thanks.

ride comfort is alright, not too rough, but if your worried about ride comfort that much then i would go for coilovers.
