no don't do them just becuase thats what i have. do what feels good to you. if you want, sometime this weekend we can get together and you can ride around with me and ill go through the adjments and even show you what all is involved.
i say go coilovers for sure, but take some time before going out an buying something you might not be happy with.
although i can vouch for my coilovers, i love them and have fun rollin around dumped!!

that sucks that happened. but thats just one person, think of all the other people out there that have had nothing but success with tein coilovers.
what im saying is.. theres no such thing as perfect, everyonce in while, no matter what the company or brand, there is going to be defects.

ummm.... ok just bare with me man but skunk coil overs are crapy cause i know one kid that got them and the did not hold there height. they continued to compress. and idk bout you but that told me heck i dont want that. and he did not see this on any forms. so just cause it happen to one person doesnt mean that it wont happen to someone else. some people dont post it cause it ruined there car and there embarrased bout it. but that was why i said watch out.
and what im saying is suspension is a very delicate area of the car. if your suspension breaks it could realy ruin the car or cost you your life. that is why i say do more research on tein to warn you bout that.

i understand completely what your saying, and i know lots of peeps who also have had problems with skunk2 coilovers, but many that have been just fine. 1st gen skunk2 sleeve type coilovers i heard and seen many problems, but those as far as i can tell with there newer products have been resolved.
i came from hondas and still have acouple that i work on regularly. i personally had 4(including oem) suspension setups on my 94 civic coupe, and went from oem, to springs and shocks, to coilovers (x2). and i bought my xB to daily while building my civic for scca/ autoX, and ive been through 3 suspension setups with it, oem, df210s, and ksport coilovers. and the only real problem ive had with any of my suspensions is that the springs dont drop the ride height like advertised, but thats it.
and your ONE friend, what shocks was he running? oem? tokico? kyb? koni? these all play a small roll in how springs will settle.

I ran Tein SS-P for over a year... raced on them no problem...
Looking at the pic you posted couple things that stand out..
The height rings are not together... Second theres no lip on the bottom base... Also..... We cant get flex for the Scions...
Ive ran Teins on 3 of my cars and thats about all I would recommend for coilovers. But thats my personal opinion.
