I tried the tutorial on scionlife.com with the dome light hardwire, and no success. Then I tried hardwiring to cig lighter and no success, and then finally the the stereo and no success. I went off of the wiring diagrams i dug up on that site too. I was wondering if anyone else here had hardwired an '06 tC and had success. If so what did you wire it to and such. Thanks.
Also the radar I am doing it to is the RX 65 Pro.

what connections are you using? did you cut the cig lighter cable from the radar?? I hardwired one in my friend hatch, it was easy, we did it at the dome light.

Did you wire in a ground too?
thats what I'm thinking. sounds like you're definately hitting places with live power, just maybe not completing the loop

Yea first time to the dome, i grounded to the place described in the tutorial, on the cig lighter I grounded to a bolt that I found tied into the middle below the cup holders, and then the stereo i grounded to the metal that holds the stereo in. Any ideas?

Use a small screw and ground it to the frame.

None of those grounds are good enough - ground it to the frame itself.

Well... I solved it and I like how it turned out, but it took alot of work...
Soo I totally ripped apart my car in search of the best way to wire and ground....(below, two pics?)

I decided to T-Tap the Cig connection

Then behind the gauges, I found the perfect ground which ran strait into the chasis.(circled in black)

After I figured out the best way to route the wires, which was begind the gauges, in which i ran the power down to the cig, mounted the ground as specified above, and then wound up and taped the wires. I then took the blank slot holder and dremelled it out and mounted the smart plug for radar onto it as shown here:

Then I routed the main cable as i did the power and ground behind the gauges, into the center console, under the ac vent and up as shown here:

All is done and works very well. Had to go for a joy ride after install and no problems.
