I'm trying to get a definite answer before buying wheels that I've picked out. I want to buy a certain wheel. 17X8. Wheel comes in either 35 or 48 offset. From what I can tell from the postings is that the 35 offset would/might work and be the most flush. Would the 48 offset be too much? Would the 35 offset rub at all? Sorry if the answer is out there and I missed it.

I cannot tell you what your EXACT wheel offset is, but 90% of modern FWD cars use wheels with offsets in the neighborhood of 35-38mm ET.
If your choises are 35 ot 48 for your wheel offset I can say with certainty that you should be buying the 35's.
Even if your stock wheels are closer to the 48mm offset like the other option with those custom wheels I would still buy the 35's because they will stick out just a bit more than stock.
The difference is only 13mm or about 1/2" you can't lose with the 35mm offset wheels.

So would a 17x8 wheel with a 38 offset fit no issues?
Looking at a Privat wheel I like a lot.

Well, I decided to go with 18's instead. WHoo Hoo. Size does matter. :)
I got the tires yesterday. Now I just need to find some wheels I like.
The madness has started.
