i jsut bought a new intake today one of the cheap shitty but basic ones at auto zone i got everything installed and everything went in right. when i went to go start it, it starts up and then dies and doesnt idle at all ,i checked the maf sensor it seems to be good it is a little loose but i wouldnt think it would cause the engine to stall. t here is the one lil senser that has the 2 small vacume lines going to, one leading into the throttle body. those r good 2. any 1 have any ideas or have had the same problem?

MAF is loose as in leaking loose? It sounds like you have a leak in the system.

that could be it i put the stock intake back on minus the part that goes into the fender and everything ran great its either the loose MAF or the filter? which would u narrow down to?

Loose MAF. There can be no leaks after the maf in the intake system.

It could be a loose MAF sensor. If you have air able to get in around where it bolts in or air escaping from that same location it will give a false reading to the ECU and give you nothing but problems.

As far as the filter goes, not likely the problem.

When you say cheap shitty one from Autozone, what kind? (APC)

Pipe size can be an issue too. However I'm not convinced that, that's your issue.

If in fact it's a bad MAF fittment issue on the pipe. My advice return it and buy something proven. AEM, Injen, Greddy, HKS and so on. This is your motor were talking about not a set of floor mats.

right i am making a custom MAF senser to secure it and seal it up. i bought some pieces from the specture piece together kit. the pipe size is about half an inch bigger nuthing to big of a difference. i would buy an AEM setup but i am bout to deploy in october and decided to go turbo when i get back and was convinced its not worth spending 300 on an intake when its gonna be boosted.

smart Idea.

Get the stage 2 kit from Paul at Dezod and use the upgraded ECU not that shitty AEM one. Paul will explain it to you. Also get his Stainless exhaust for your ride it goes hand in hand with that kit. My buddy Andre just got that same stuff shipped home for his car, So it will be there when we get home from this mission.

Paul is real good with working with Soliders. You'll like that Garrett turbo and the rest of the high end parts that come in that kit.

yea ive been looking at the S2 kit for awhile, i am planning on dropping full internals with built block port and polished, and that turbo manifold u were talking bout, the dezod race manifold, i plan on throwin that on too. cant wait tho cause im either setting this car with turbo and building up a 240sx or deckin the tc (project lucy) out, still deciding on that
