Hey, this is Mikeguyver. I have some 8's I want to put in the back doors. There nothing special, had them for about 9 years and they are broken in. The articles I've read say that the xA has 6.5 in the front and 5.75 in the back. The 8's are 3.25 deep. They sound good as a full range, which is the way I want to use them. I need to fill the void of sound where the rear passengers sit. I have a 400 watt amp, which is running the front tweets and mids on channels 1 and 2, and 6x9s in the back windows on 3 and 4. I want to hook the 8's in with the fronts. My amp is 2 ohm stable. I don't want to add another amp. Will this still sound good? I hate asking stereo installers because they act like the customer does'nt know jack. (Which is sometimes true.) If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks! :mrg:

as long as when you add the 8s with the front it doesn't go below 2 ohms you should be fine. as for the question of sounding good i would say it should sound ok. if all its doing is acting as fill (which is what most rear door speakers are anyway) it should sound fine.
I've done this on many cars before and it works out well. i honestly don't think it'd matter whether you put them on the front channels or the rears as long as it doesn't drop below 2 ohms.
P.S. not all car audio installers are like that. just try to think of the ppl we have to deal with that come in and tell me that my 12 yrs of car audio experience doesn't mean shit compared to the half page of information they printed off some forum. not saying there aren't some jerk installers out there and not saying i wouldn't act like that after a long day just my $.02
