This is probably the biggest thing i have done to a car, other than engine mods, and i was wondering if it would be better to just save up and pay someone to install them or i should take on the rigorous task. If i do what do people recommend so i dont die or fuck up the car??? Thanks

i just got done installing my Tanabe DF210's on my tC and if you can do engine work then you can do the springs. you just have to be really patient and all. i worked slow and took alot of smoke breaks and it took me about 8 hours. im not the most patient person and i got frustrated alot. but definately buy a breaker bar that will help you out the most. i am about dying right now cause my body is so stressed due to me not having a breaker bar. lol but if you dont feel comfortable with the job then definately ask the local chapter or price it out. i would recommend having local chapter do it so you can learn how though. thats how i learned. also they do have DIY on the internet that are pretty helpful too.

Yea, a breaker bar makes things much easier. I have done 4 installs and can do one in about 4-5 hours now. If you get someone that knows what they are doing, it goes pretty quick. I would go to a Harbor Freight if you have one in your area and pick up a cheap breaker bar and some spring compressors. Good luck.

You should use a wall mounted spring compressor. I installed my coilovers on my car and had to use a wall mounted unit. Well...you dont have to, but it's a serious safety issue. When i installed some springs on another car of mine, i used a rented spring compressor. SCARIEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE!!! Those springs will knock you out to say the least if they slip out of a mobile compressor. And a wall mounted unit is just much easier to work with when taking the nuts off the struts and installing the new springs. Hope that helps you.

i can second that, used one of those rented drill operated compressor and almost blew a hole in myself and my car. so damn dangerous they shouldnt even rent em.
