you can do it but the spring will not have the strength that it had before the cut you would just cut off like 1 loop then try the spring if not low enough take off another

good luck and hope you have a flame suit

It does not matter, I got some stock springs that I was going to switch to anyways if this does not work because the drop is god awful since I have about 400 pounds worth of audio in my back hatch.

So if this ruins it o well back to stock untill I get some H techs

just give me all your audio equipment and you won't have that problem anymore... hahaha

NOT RECOMMENDED,but do what you want. cutting springs will destroy your ride comfort( springs arent always linear), and not to mention put more force on your mounts and shock(outside valving). i wouldnt do it myself, not worth the chance of damaging your strut mounts.

I never recommend cutting springs. First of all, it messes up the spring seats. Where the spring sits on the shock makes a difference. If you cut the spring, it will be tough to get everything to line up again. Also, though you may cut off the spring at exactly the same spot, there is no guarantee that they will be the same height. Also, as people said, the spring rates aren't always linear so you could be screwing up your ride quality and quickening the demise of your shocks. There is a lot more to loose than there is to gain from cutting the springs. You would be better off spending the money now and getting the right springs than having to replace a lot more of your suspension later that will eclipse the price of springs in the first place.

Don't do it. I had a friend with a SE-R he chop the springs and one night he drove up to my house and one of the springs slipped off the strut. So i ended up fixing his car.

DON'T DO IT!!!!
Jason (SCVScions) had cut Goldlines. Great look, but you could loose your fillings rideing with him.
If you want to drop your front a little more try changing out to Echo struts.
I'm told that will drop you about an inch.

I am however interested in trading both sets of my springs and koni yellows for some coilovers!

Any takers?

if you do decide to cut your springs and you dnt get them both at the same point of degree they wont work right or sit in the spring pocket right. just spend a little money and get a set of springs

i read through the post and it looks like you didn't cut them. GOOD!! if you don't like the way they sit, your better off selling them and buying something different.

if your looking for a big drop you should go for coilovers or bags. i have coilovers and roll pretty low and love them. ive research this topic alot so if i can help you in any way feel free to holla
