i also wonder about this, as want a diff knob too but never take it outta OD either, which gives more options.

i was considering that, but id have to be pretty precise with the painting & im not sure of my abilities with that

also the 1st one is like $75 & the other $15 so big difference

has anyone else with an automatic ever changed the shifter?

well my deal with that would be you pay for what you get, and I bet you could get that first one in red if you ask

unfortunately it only comes in the chrome/gray color but has a black, carbon fiber, silver, or wood grip insert

i just installed my shift knob & ebrake cover & wow waz that difficult...they say its easy install with little modification but thats a lie

i had 2 cut OD wire cuz new knob didnt have an OD button then cut some plastic on the shaft for proper fit...but now while im in drive im able 2 put the car in reverse without depressing the top button which is bad i guess 4 safety reasons...dont know if thats supposed 2 happen or wat

there was no way i could see 2 remove factory ebrake cover so i had to cut it off with hammer, screwdriver, & hacksaw...that was no easy job...then i had 2 cut the soft base guard cuz cover waz 2 long so now its not very clean flush look...im probably gotta get shift & ebrake boots 2 make everything look better

oh & added red LED dome light

You can relocate you OD button to somewhere on the dash...

Although it sounds like I'm a little late to chime in ... you can relocate your OD button just about anywhere ... If you dont use it then just extend the wires and tuck it away somewhere, but hope you never acidentally hit it while driving .... lol

The e brake handle can be easily removed by removing the assembly, wrap the handle in a rag, clamp it in a vice, heat the dude up with a heat gun, and pull. The thing slides off with some force but neither will be damaged this way.

I pulled mine off a while back and was going to put an aftermarket one in, but couldn't see an easy way to make it look clean.
