ok so i am having a wierd prob with my 2005 xb the flashing red temp light comes on after highway driving and only after being on the highway had it to a mechanic and from what they told me didnt get any bad codes. the light has come on a few times since changing a coil pack but only after a highway drive he ran the car around town and let it run at idle for a long time and no temp issues
hopefully i havent killed it lol

Mine did that. It's definitely overheating. I took it to dealer 3x's before the light ever came on for them. I had a cracked valve gasket. It leaked water into one of the coil packs and was throwing codes. It warped the head and had to get it machined to fit back on. Did $3,000 - $4,000 worth of damage. Luckily for me my buddy is the service manager and he wrote it up as a warranty. I recommend not driving around until you find out for sure what it is... Good luck.
