As some of you may already know; Stance has developed a set of TC coilovers for our community. (XB and XA guys, I haven't gotten any word yet but will keep you updated. Why is this important and big news? Well, to some, Stance may just be another coilover company, but to most, Stance is a high-end coilover company that produces pure JDM coilovers with plenty of race/drift experience and history. ALSO, the TC coilovers will include pillowball mounts, camber plates, and will come completely assembled. No OEM top hats required. And you guys get all this for a low price compared to other top manufactures that include these accessories such as TEIN, Cusco, etc.

Pre-Order Details:
Stance's first crate is coming in early September! There is no total confirmed quantity coming from Japan as of yet, but we are one of the few exclusive California dealers and we aren't going to get anymore than 8 sets as of now. A deposit of $300 is required to place a pre-order, but this $400 will of course go toward the total product price. This deposit IS REFUNDABLE in case you change your mind, but a %10 charge ($30) is accessed if refunded. This charge is not for Meng Motorsports, but for Stance's inventory adjustments. We can do as low as $100 deposit, but no refunds can be made. Note: Pre-order is not required, but this allows us to know how much more to order. The next crate after September is expected in January. We don't want you to wait that long!
Why Stance?
-Made in Japan (JDM)
-15 Way Dampening Adjustability
-Fully Threaded Shock Bodies (Height adjustment is independent from spring pre-load.
-Camber Plates, Pillowball Mounts, Dust Plates included. (NO need to re-use OEM components!)
-Inverted Front Monotube Coilovers!
-GR+ has the widest height adjustment range. Numbers aren't confirmed yet, but we expect these to go just as low as B+Gs, yet retain comfort.
-Race/Drift experience.
-One year warranty.
Why Buy From Meng Motorsports?
-We are going to be one of the few exclusive dealers to get the TC sets in stock in September! These sets aren't released yet, don't be fooled by the EBAY sellers listing their products as "in-stock".
-We are direct dealers with Stance and speak to them on a regular basis!
-We put in 110% effort to keep all our customers happy. Check ANY forum we sponsor =].
-A set will be tested on our company TC vehicle. A review will come on this thread, but there is no guarantees that any will be left in stock once we post the pics.
***Meng WILL have EXCLUSIVE Meng Motorsports sets in stock that are revalved! The Standard Stance coilovers are rated at 7KG/MM front and 6KG/MM Rear. As of right now we have (3) three sets on order that are custom made for Meng Motorsports at 7KG/MM front and 9KG/MM rear! NO OTHER Dealer will have this set up. Place a pre-order to make sure you will get a custom 7/9 set. NOTE: Stance is not going to just swap springs on the custom Meng Motorsports sets. The shocks will be professionally revalved to match the new spring rates. With this revalving, we can custom order spring rates within a +/- 2KG/mm Difference. Meaning, from 7/9 we can get you up to 9/11 for free! Many other manufacturers claim to have "custom" spring rates, but sometimes they just swap springs without revalving which compromises the rebound/dampening adjustability.***
List price is $1495.00+Shipping. Send me a PM for special total discount price that will beat any authorized dealer! Place a pre-order to guarantee a special Meng Motorsports set which is the SAME PRICE!

I would be interestred in 7KG fronts and 11KG rears..
PM me price shipped to 10704. I'm in baghdad now but will be home soon so i'm looking for coilovers with performance in mind.
And i have a question, how would these compare to DG Spec coilovers offered by Dezod ?
same price and pretty much same specs, so it's up to the customer which ever he wants to go with ?
And another important question is, do stance offer rebuilds in the US or coilover will have to be shipped to Japan ?
Thanks

07-21-2010, 05:19 PM
Hey rus, in case he hasn't got back to you yet, the price is the same! So go ahead and put down the payment on these bad boys.
Also, compared to the DG's which are custom progress coils, these have independent ride height adjustability and I believe the progress coils do not (i.e. have to lower the vehicle by the spring perch). Which will change pre-load and ultimately the performance of the coils. And from what I saw you can order parts for it yourself, but that would be nice if they did offer rebuilds and where from.
Hope this helped out a little lol.

^^^ Meng didn't reply yet...
Thanks for your input bud, i'm nto sure about DG height adjustability i will ask Paul that question. Both of these are pretty much teh same price, can be ordered with the same spring rates hmmmm.. dilemma..
I want to know if i choose to have 7kg/11kg spring rates, i know meng mentioned they are going to be custom revalved by stance meaning that it will not affect the shock itself right ? How can we be sure they are going to custom revalve it ? I mean it's a new product for scion's and there are no test review's yet..
One thing i do like about these coils is that they are pre-order so you don't have to dish out $1300 immediately.
Another thing i wonder is, Stance is the second company after HKS to offer higher front spring rate then rears which is supposed to be other way around for FWD as far as i know.what was their reasoning for that ?

07-22-2010, 02:58 AM
Hello Rus,
7/11 can be done! Also Turbo_charged is pretty correct. The DG's are great coilovers as well, but the features are a bit different. Stance coils are fully threaded shock bodies, meaning the height adjustability is independent from the spring pre-load because to adjust the height, you will adjust it from the lower shock body instead of the actual spring perch. This allows a wide range of height adjustment without tampering with the spring preload. Also, the DG specs do NOT come with pillowball mounts, the OEM mounts will have to be re-used. Front camber plates are also not included with DG's, so front alignment adjustments will be difficult. Yes the specs may be similar, but Stance coils has features that make it more ideal to more car enthusiasts. Like I said before, DG coilovers are awesome as well, it just depends what you are looking for.
I can't tell you that anybody will know that they are revalved just by looking at them, in fact it's hard to tell any coilover is valved correctly just by installing them and riding them. To know exactly, they would have to be put through tests that Stance may or may not provide us. But what I can tell you is that putting a 7/11 set of springs on a 7/6 valved shock will have a somewhat negative feel when compared with a properly valved shock. The dampening adjustments will also be inaccurate and unresponsive within the clicks since the shocks were not valved correctly for the springs. When going with us you will definitely receive the coilover sets that are properly valved to the spring rates and the dampening adjustments will be responsive. So to summarize, there won't be a big sticker that says "revalved" but you will definitely notice the ride quality if/when you compare it to other coiloveres that were not revalved when choosing different spring rates. I hope this explanation wasn't too confusing, I'm trying my best =].
I wondered the same thing about why Stance first offered the front's being stiffer. I wasn't able to talk to whoever made that decision, but the agent that does handle our orders stated that, that was what they wanted to go with. What I do know for sure is that if the Meng sets sell well, 7/9 will become standard over the 7/6 set. So in the future 7/9 may or may not be "exclusive". But we are definitely getting the first shipment and Meng customers will the first sets from Stance. Also pre-order total price will of course be lower than any advertised price available. Rus, I also will send you a PM now.

This is what i found on what come with DG coils
--350/650 spring rates (standard)
--DG-Spec custom valving
--DG-Spec black custom bodies
--DG-Spec logos
--All hardware
--Valving done to spring rate can be increased 50-100 lbs per corner (Extra Charge)
--Front camber kit included. No need for rear as you can adjust up to -3 degrees
So pretty much everything is the same except that Stance will offer dampening ability and no stock parts are reused...
Ohh and Stance is a better price just a little bit.
Now my other question is, for example with spring rates of 7/11 if i put it on softest setting how will the ride quality change ?
I've never owned coilovers so i'm curious about that.
Thank you.
t_urbo_C_harged
07-22-2010, 05:38 PM
Since you have never owned coils heres my input. I went from hotchkis springs to the HKS coils (got them for a great deal) and the first thing I noticed was that I could "feel" the road a lot more, but it wasn't near as harsh over large bumps such as rail road tracks and also wasn't as bouncy over repeditive bumps. I believe this is largely due to the coils being valved properly, as lowering springs on factory struts with different spring rates don't have the damping the spring rates need. Plus shock travel is compromised as well.
With a higher spring rate I am expecting a lot more road feel and a lot less body roll. From all of the reviews I have read, the first few clicks on the damping will be very smooth on these coils as they seem to have real good build quality. I am sure you can't go wrong with either set, but the adjustablitly on these and independent ride height is what sold me. Sure you get a front camber kit from dezod with the DG's, but are they just camber bolts? If so, anyone running a really wide could possibly rub on the coils. I know I about did with my RPF1's and the ingalls front camber kit. I had maybe 1/4" gap between the two.
Edit: Another plus, these coils are inverted up front, which means less unsprung weight. The only other coilovers that are offered (that I know of) inverted are the BC racing, Zeal, and maybe the JIC's but I am not sure on that one. Also, the higher end BC's only.
Side note, are the new higher spring rate springs coming from Stance as well, or from you?
RusWolf
07-22-2010, 07:10 PM
^^^ Got ya,
if the question is for me i will answer.
New higher rate springs are coming from stance/meng not sure.. but as far as i understand as meng described we select spring rates and stance takes care of everything.

Mr.Meng you several PM's and a deposit for my coilovers..
I decided to go with Stance since it looks like they are going to be loaded with great options and should be good quality. Another fact is that pre-order special price is pretty good compared to any other coils with the same specs..
Meng one thing you did NOT answer is will Stance have a rebuilding facility for these coils in the US or will they have to be shipped to Japan for warranty work or after warranty work ?
mengsta
07-23-2010, 02:43 PM
Rus,
Yes the sets are pretty similar in a way, but the features you listed are definitely what I mentioned about Stance being more ideal for most end-users. What you forgot to list is also that Stance has independent height adjustment. Meaning that no matter how much you lower your vehicle, the actual pre-load on the springs will not be tampered with. And yes, also the fronts are inverted monotubes, which is a plus for the performance enthusiast. When you have it set to the softest setting, expect the coilover to rebound and respond to bumps more soft. Of course the stiffer the setting, bumps and hard turns will feel a bit more harsh, but will result in a faster rebound/dampening. Thanks for going with us Rus! I'm positive you will love these coilovers. Yes the special pre-order price will not be the same price as when the coilovers do come in. I also replied to all your PMs! Warranty work will be covered by Stance-USA. No worries about shipping to Japan yourselves.
T_urbo_C_harged,
You are very correct. If the DG's do not include top mounts, really also means that no camber plates are included, so yes they probably give you camber bolts. The higher spring rates will come from Stance Japan. Meng is still a small family owned business, we don't have any manufacturing or testing facilities for springs yet =]. Also, are you still running HKS coils? Those are pretty rare lol.
Sorry for the late reply. I try to respond to forum messages within one day, but have been a bit behind lately.

Also, are you still running HKS coils? Those are pretty rare lol.
Yes I am! :) Are they really that rare? I had a set of Zeals way back when but never put them on, instead traded for these HKS coils, rays lugs, and cash. Rays lugs will be up for sale soon though, I now have Blox forged titanium lugs :). And once I receive the stance coils, I will either keep the HKS for backup or sell them, not sure yet.
RusWolf
07-23-2010, 07:51 PM
^^^ those are nice lugs..
I'm getting Project kics R40 open end Neo-chrome lugs with my new wheels. Wonder how will the look. On pictures they look pretty sick :)
mengsta
07-27-2010, 02:42 AM
Yeah they are pretty rare. HKS no longer carries them and I believe they only released them for about 2 years. Zeals are of course rare as well which is probably why you were able to get coilovers, lugs, AND cash just for a Zeal set. Both sets are of course good quality, but they are of course rare mainly because they are DC. These Stance coiilovers should definitely be a bigger upgrade especially with the stiffer springs! We are most likely going to get Rays lugs for our company TC as well, when our Rays wheels come in.
Oh yes the project kics neo chrome is very nice as well!
Bump! These Stance coilovers are still up for pre-sale only a few sets left!!!!!! Pre-sale price is the lowest you will find! We are pretty much the only direct TC dealer aknowledging that the Stance's are coming in September.

^^ We of course cannot guarantee that the TC set will slam that low since Stance themselves don't have exact numbers yet, BUT we had the same Stance GR+ model on that SC, it being that GR+ is their best height adjustment coilover, I would expect extreme slammage as well. Ride is extremely better than the Teins we had, no track testing as of yet, hopefully in October.

Review of Coilovers:
Fitment was 100% spot on. No modifications of course. The coilovers arrived with the pillowball top mounts properly installed and properly torqued. Pre-load was already set, but was easy to change. Coilovers basically arrived better than expected. Even came with the rubber stops on the threads to prevent any damage as you can see in the pictures. One thing different that we noticed compared to other coilovers that we offer is the sway bar mounting tab. Stance has a fully adjustable sway bar mounting tab on the coilover. This made lining up the coilover effortless since the tab to mount the sway bar to was adjustable. Rear coilovers also include a rubber ring which we haven't seen from other coilovers as well. Packaging and installation was spot-on and had no problems.
Thoughts on performance:
After the install we re-checked tire pressure and took it for a spirited drive. No alignment has been done yet, so we will have to chime in, in a few more days. We can honestly say that out of the coilovers we tested, Stance is definitely our favorite as of yet. Suspension travel is really quiet with no squeaks or noises. dampening and rebound is definitely more responsive. Body roll difference is night and day. The 15 dampening adjustability is definitely noticeable when you adjust in increments. Our sets were 9/11 kg/mm and had the dampening at full stiff for rear and set at neutral for the front. Next autox event is in November, so I will be able to give you guys more info then as well.
Height Adjustment:
Okay I'm sure everybody has been waiting for this one. We haven't maxed the fronts yet, but we can honestly say that the rears can go as low as the B+G coilovers; from which I believe is the lowest slamming coilovers available. Technically these Stance coilovers can go LOWER than B+G's! But, the spring preload will have to be adjusted. Shortening the spring travel will allow the end-user to lower the shock body even more. However this will result in a very harsh ride. So to summarize, the rears can go as low as B+G's or near, without even touching the pre-load! The same goes with the fronts. We estimate a little more than 3 inch drop both sides without tampering with the preload. These coilovers have separate pre-load and height adjustment! Keep in mind that when going near 3 inches, the pre-load will not have to be adjusted to prevent compromise of spring load. These coilovers also include pillowball top mounts and front camber plates!
I understand that without pictures, it didn't happen. We will have pictures up soon. With OEM wheels and with flush sitting wheels. =].

But one thing is i do not see any serial number by which i can verify that they are valved to my requested specs.

thanks.

Hello Rus,
I'm glad you like them and that they look good =].
They should have had a serial number on the box, or at the very least have a spring rate written on the box for you. You can try to call Stance to see if they are able to pull anything up for you, but besides that I can't really think of anything that will help them verify it.
However, as an authorized dealer, I assure you that the coil overs you received are at the spring rates you asked for.
