Front Grill Question

Anyone know what the grill is made out of? Is it metal with a powder coating and some paint or is it a solid piece of some type of plastic?

I want to have a blank sheet of it custom drilled and cut. I was thinking it would be fun to have the "scikotics" name cut into it, and then to put in some backlighting that I saw someone else do.

I was thinking it would be a great way to display the scikotics name without using vinyl until I'm sure on what my car theme/color is going to be. So I wanted to keep the grill the same material/color. Either using the plastic or doing it in metal and powder coating/painting it matte black.
