Does anyone know what the amount of fluid there is inside the transmission on an automatic XB 2004?I would like to replace the fluid but i don't want to have to sit and measure what comes out. Any help on this would be very helpful.

A flush and fill should be about 3.7 quarts on an automatic, so buy 4 quarts and you should be good. Had to call the dealer on that one, he said that you wont be able to get all of the old fluid out. So you might have a bit extra, say about a pint or so.

thats not a flush and fill, thats a drain and fill, the best way to change the fluid is by getting a full flush, they hook up the lines from the tranny cooler to the flush machine and it pumps the old oil out and the new one back in. if you want to do a flush and fill yourself, it would be like a 3 week process to be able to get everthing out. Youll have to drain it, refill, drive it for about a week and repeat, thats only becuase you have to clear out the oil in the TC.
So, just pay the dealer to do the flush on it. lol.

Hello I'm on a budget here...... if I could afford the car payment, insurance, rent, food, gas, kids back to school I would have left a posting like how much will the dealer charge me?
but no

Well i can deff understand that, im the proud parent of 3 girls and the owner of 3 cars, house, and married to a woman whol loves to shop, so i know how it is... if you want to succesfully flush out the tranny then get a full flush, if not, drain it, and put 4 qts in. but that would only change PARTIAL oil in the tranny.

Cool, but why would anyone want to just change the fluid? Hell, I would rather just save the cash until I could have it totally flushed.
