well if i launch at 2k now i'll spin cause my front tires are going bald and i need to rotate them(btw i've had my tC since 12/28 and it came with new tires lol) but when i 1st got my tC and i launched i'd spin up to 3k and then catch, but then my friend had me launch at 3.5k and i kinda liked it but dont at the same time :| plus its more tire spin which could be why they're going bald already

2800 with light feathering, slight tire chirp, im not the best driver, but after 10 consecutive runs, that was workin the best for me, 3/4 tread on nitto s55's.

2,200 to 2,600 RPM's depending on traction at the strip. There is a fine line between bogging down and spinning the tires when you do a hard launch. When I start at those RPM's, you have to be very precise in feathering out the clutch so you don't spin. Through the first gear, you should gradually let out the clutch and have it all the way out just as it is time to shift into second. From there on, just row through the gears and hope for that win light.

I know... It'd cut down my 1/4 times so much.

I launch at about 3k... and I have reduced tire pressure for a better luanch... When I did race.

Launching the car dont mean shit if you havent set it up for a good launch.

Lowering tire pressure on street tires is fairly useless. It can actually hurt you because you may be running on the sidewall.

You only want to lower the pressure with Drag Radials or Slicks. That way there's a larger contact patch. Plus the tires are made for it.

well by what everyone says in my thread i'm def not launching at 3.5k anymore! lol thanks for the help guys i'm just going to keep messing around til i get my launch near perfect if that is possible

Your launch point can change based on your suspension too.. Keep that in mind. Upgraded suspension with a higher spring rate will help with the launch a lot better.

Im not saying dropping it by 20 lbs...

and im not here to argue with you... But lowering on street tires can help alot... watch your 60 ft time and then your overall trap and overall top end time just to make sure you didnt lower it to much.

We use to test our street car on slicks and street tires... it makes a world of difference.

Yea, I usually pump up my rear tires a bit and drop the PSI in the front tires a bit with pretty good results. If you make the rear tires harder by adding more air, you slightly reduce rolling resistance. By reducing front tire air pressures, you can increase your traction patch a bit as long as you don't go too crazy and roll your tires. Small adjustments can really help your times.

2500K is where u get the least wheel spin

Remember when I say I launch at 3k that means thats where I start from by the time its dropped and feathered out with the clutch its more like 2.5k...

on the shit potenzas when I was stock, I couldn't launch over 2k without serious wheel hop.

I haven't played with launches in my turbo yet...too much torque and I'm worried I'm going to destroy my clutch before I get a chance to dyno tune it.

Auto I launched just over 3k with decent results.

Manual, I stick to around 2300-2500 for the least amount of spin. You want Some spin, but as little as you can possibly get. Learning to feather the clutch on launch is the best way to get faster times in our cars.

I think if the motor is putting out 162 lb.s of tq. and tq. is what gets you moving then I would find out at what rpm it gives you that max tq. then I would launch at that but watch your clutch to keep from spining your tyrs.
Im not sure at what rpm the tc makes that, it may be too high.http://www.scikotics.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif

ITS 4000 rpm at max torque. way too high.

True,,, that is a little too high to hold it without a load.
dono dude I guess play around with it and see what you come up with.
Between 2 or 3k maybe safe
