I tore my x-box abart, not a 360!!! figured since i have a 360, and 2 regular xboxs id try to mod one to fit in the dash. The only place the largest circuit board will fit is in the glove box. I might have to do some cutting to get that to fit. the powersupply will go in that left little cubby in the glove box. The hard drive is able to fit under or above the biggest circuit board, with a barrier between the 2. Finding a spot for the ROM drive to fit is being a pain in the butt!!! Im going to try to see if i can lengthen the cable that connects the hard drive, rom drive to the main circuit board, that might be the bust though. Anyone have any ideas??
Oh ya, i know the WII and PS2 are smaller and fit anywhere, but im like the xbox more.

the cable that connects them all is an IDE cable, go to a local computer repair shop and see the longest one they have... i was gona do it in my tC, but gave up and put my xbox back together :p

you could mount 90% of it under the dash Aaron, theres plenty of room, you just need to be able to turn it on, change disks and hook up controllers so you could technically mount what needs to be exposed in that little compartment under the climate controls

Im thinking of maybe building a fiberglass box under that, doin away with the cigarrete(SP) and the ash tray, i dont use them. I know how i want to do the rest, just havent tackled it since i still dont feel up to par, and the wife is sick.

If you dont have or don't use XM radio. Under the passenger seat is a great place. Although you don't have easy access to the unit. Its the only draw back.
You could probably cut the crap outta your glove box, and slide the entire xbox in there. You may also need to shorten the cup holder thingy in the dash as well. Overall I think you can make it fit with out re positioning everything.

you could put it next to that one screen...

I thought about it under one of the seats, but i just dont like that. The dash cup holder is removed already, id have to cut the dash next to the right screen to make the rom drive fit, its rather big. I might go mess around tonight, got a headache goin right now.

technically, you can mod the xbox, get a chip and a larger harddrive, then you wouldnt need a optical drive in it, wireless card, pull in the garage (wireless network) copy new games/ music/ movies to the drive and go to town. then all you need is access to the power button (wireless controllers) maybe the slim xbox will give you some ideas also..
oops, its a mini xbox, not slim, anyway... http://technabob.com/blog/2007/09/08/xbox-mini-a-great-unfinished-masterwork/

PM if you want more details, but i know a guy from another form and i sent him my xbox and he modded it, supplied the chip, installed the chip, put in the new 250 gb hd, new software and few games. i thought his prices were fair. he could prolly even set up the wireless card and slim the case for you.
i know the fun is figuring it out on your own, but if you get tired of it and want someone else to do it; he would. lol.

thats a prety sweet mini xbox!!! But right now, cant really afford a hyped up sweet little thing like that!! I got my half installed right now. The main board is in, power board is installed and power cable half ran. The video and audio cables are installed. All i got to do is lengthen a few wires, for the controler and on/of switch boards. add a power converter, and itll be installed and hopefully work!!!

Made a small box for the 4 controller hook-ups and on/off ejection buttons. One of the controller quadrant hook ups is lengthened about 36 inchs. Just got to get the other done and on/off eject switchs. Ill get up some pics shortly!

I got the xbox running today. I fad faults about the first 5 times, figured out the problem, fixed it, then played a little need for speed underground 2, actually suprised me how well it looks on the 7" screen. Marrow im going to see about getting 2 audio cables to hook up to the head unit, then ill have sound, video. I need to lengthen the 3/4 controler hook up 36ish inchs for the center box.

not much has changed, this is where everything will sit. just need to strap it all down, dress it up and ill have a functional xbox in the dash. I messed up one of the controller connector parts, so ill only be able to use 2 wireless controllers, thats fine with me.

do you use your cigarette lighter? IMO stick with wireless controllers ditch the 4 plugs for them, and mount the on/off/eject button in the lighter area, or mold it into the dash.
but congrats on getting it done, for the love of god CLEAN IT UP! :lalala::-P

heres what we got, I got it to work, but the angle that the rom drive sits at when the door is closed, well, wont work, so i have to open the door. We drove around while my wife played need 4 speed for about 30 minutes when the xbox overheated, cooling fan not installed yet. Soon to be.
