oznium led's wiring

i havent recieved my led modules yet but i am very, well scared of electricity. the site said black to black(ground) and red to red. my questions are...
i want to either put it under my rearview mirror(less likely) or stick it under the radio kind of a map light for when i do my paper routes.
so wuestion 1.where would be the best and closes place to find these wires?
2. do i have to unhook battery?
3. if i have to unhook the battery will i encounter things like my keyless to get messed up or anything else?

i'm a noob when it comes to automods. my resolution this year is to stay busy and creative. help a sister out. lol

thanks for the response.
i recieved the led's today. the led module wire is not very long so i am looking for suggestions on where to put it for good map style lighting. i have a plain rear view, no compass or wiring up there. i dont knwo where wires are so someone who knows would be a great start for me.

best way then is to put a switch in the dash somewhere and run the wires up the a-pillar and under the head liner lol

thats a lot of wire!
i was thinking there would be some wires i could access under the ac knobs. but like i said i have no idea.
any one have those rocker switches from Oznuim? i htought if i got one of those i could rig something
