valvetrain noise...

im at 123k mi and i have been chasing a noise that sounds like its in the head and on the exhaust side. No valves are bent. the cams dont have heat spots or scaring. the lobes look good. Wondering if anyone has had valve lash problems and needed valve adjustments? For those people who have rebuilt or built a 2AZ please chim in. Thanks scikos

what does the noise sound like? Clicking, pinging, etc.

its not a pinging its more like a tapping sound. its not in the bottom end. its in the head. if you know what a lifter tap sounds like just picture that sound coming from the exhaust side of the head. Thanks

hm... not really sure. The easiest and quickest way is to just pop it into a shop and ask them to what the problem is. They'll charge you that $20 inspection fee or w/e it is. Then when you find out what the actual problem is, just fix it yourself.
