Noobie question

I know a good amount of people on this forum probably has a good understanding about what the different symbols on the dash mean, Examples:

(!) = tire pressure low
BRAKE = E-brake in use
CRUISE = Cruise control on

But I was wondering if anyone would be willing to explain to me or post up a link to what the other symbols meant? I didn't really know how to phrase this question in google or on the forums.

Any help would be great, thanks!

And no I don't have a manual, I just recently purchased a 2008 Scion xD, and it was used.

umm any symbol in particular? these are right off hand that I know

RED thermometer = running hot
BLUE thermometer = cold engine temp (normally on initial start up until engine hits operating temp)
RED battery symbol = charging problem (alternator not charging i.e. either bad or belt come off)
ORANGE maint reqd = need oil changed

BLUE =D = High beams are on. ROFL

Lol that's sort of what I was looking for but is there anything online, perhaps in the manual that I was never lucky enough to obtain? Sort of like a keymap of all the symbols?

i dont know exactly the symbols i jus catagorize them, the ones on the left side of the speedometer, are maintanance and usually you can do them urself, the ones on the right of the tachometer, are the "bad ones" if any of them are on, that means severe maintanance required, I would usually take it to a professional.

true was blue on first gen xb i believe so i confused them
