Car lighter not working

I noticed today that the car lighter isn't working. Is there a fuse that could've blown? I just bought the car 3 days ago used, so I don't know what the previous owner did. I know I could start tearing apart the center console, but I would like to find out as much info about this as possible before hand.

there is a fuse located under your steering wheel.

take the car back to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

more then likely your fuse is blown, fuse panel is under the dash just left of the steering colomn you really gotta contort to see it is, it has a black cover, and it is a blue 15 amp fuse. honestly not worth taking it to a dealer, I know you just bought it. But it is a fuse. Not worth driving to the dealer, Haveing them pull it in..... and waiting. just check the fuse. If it is not blown take it to the dealer.

Thanks for all the help guys. I don't plan on taking it to the stealership. I want to do as much work on this car myself as possible. Nothing's better than TLC in my opinion.

^^^ Not true. I know on all my past American cars, thats the case, but not for the tC at least. I popped my cig fuse and my radio is fine.

yeah the radio uses a seperate fuse or accessory wire, no way it uses the same one.

ive blown my cig lighter fuse before and my stereo kept running.

like above said the cig and the radio are separate circuits. my perdiction is that it is either the fuse, or the connection on the back of the prongs is not getting good contact. oh and I wouldn't exactly go around bad mouthing toyota/scion by calling their dealerships stealerships, I dont know about your chapter but Mine is sponsored by one, Props to Grossinger Toyota:up:
