need hood help

well my wife bought me a cf hood for x-mas i went to install it and found that the latch in the hood is too long to close the hood. i need help only fix i could think of is hood pins but i was hopeing not to have to do this has any come across this. HELP!!!!!!!!!

ok.
step one: remove grill
step two: loosen lower hood latch assembly
step three: carefully close hood and adjust lower latch
step four: tighten bolts on lower latch
step five: open hood, replace grill, close hood, and check for fit


that's how we did ours.
