Hello all. I'm obviously new to the community and wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Rob and I have been a Scion xA owner for nearly 4 years. I had initially intended to find a Toyota Yaris 3 door liftback with a 5 speed, but at the time, the Yaris was still fairly new to the market here in the US and 3 door liftbacks with 5 speeds were hard to find (6 week wait through the local dealerships).
Since I was driving 140 miles round trip daily to work and back home,I couldn't wait to get a newer, more fuel efficient vehicle. My search for a Yaris ended at Cavender Toyota in San Antonio when I met a sales person who suggested I take a look at the Scion xA. I test drove it that same evening and after 2 hours in the sales office, I drove my brand new 2006 Scion xA with 15 miles on the odometer off the new sales lot.
Now nearly 4 years later with 115,000 miles, I'm proud to say it feels like it's just getting broken in and it runs like a top. I'm also nearing the pay off date and was looking to add some performance and handling parts to make it even more fun to drive than it already is (I call it my "street legal go-kart").
There is nothing remarkable about my xA just yet...it's bone stock with black sand pearl paint, factory steelies with original hub caps and no modifications to the stereo or anything else throughout the car with the exception of tint on the windows which is nearly a requirement for living in South Central Texas.
If anyone has suggestions for modified suspensions, intake, throttle bodies, exhaust, etc, let me know. I am already eyeing a DC sports exhaust system, Koenig 15x7 wheels with 225 50 R tires and Megan coilovers...hopefully by the end of the year.
After I get something significant and worthy to take a pic of, I'll post it up, but for now, I would love to hear your suggestions.
Thanks for the warm welcome from the San Antonio chapter!
