Ok...so I am new to the Scion scene and I am curious...if I were to do one thing to the iengine of my car...what would your very 1st option be? If you have a real sweet idea, post some pics of it so I can take a peek. Just trying to figure out where to start. Thanks for all of the help in advance.

Oh, and I have a 2008 XB

Intake, and exhaust is always the place to start

And out of those two, what brands do you recommend?

www.customtc.com has a reliable intake. i have been using it for awhile now. sounds real good and is affordable.. you can also put a different filter on it if need be.

as for exhaust i have a tsudo exhaust.. it was kind of cheap and i will be looking for a new one soon but it sounds good and has not rusted bad or anything.

really look around and listen to audio/video clips of exhausts. so many different sounds/looks.

im into doing complete custom exhausts but thats just me. there are so many out there for the xB for an axle back, but if you want any real improvements go header back and replace everything... spend some time on youtube listening to clips

Thanks for the advice. I am definitely going to take my time with the it. In the past, I have had a tendency to do stuff really quick and then regret it later. So I'm going to be hitting some shows and stuff, taking notes and then making decisions from there.

exhaust first is what i would recommend over the intake but that's me though.

First question is how much coin do you have to spend?

Because some upgrades now could prove to be useless later. Like for example: If you want a turbo kit than there is no reason for a different header or CAI. And as far as exhaust goes that could also depend on your turbo set up.

Choose your parts wisely so as not to double up on things you don't need.

If you need ideas look at my engine build, I'm as extreme as it gets and have left no stone unturned.

If you have some serious questions just ask. I can show you how to make power out of that ride.

If your just looking for bolt on's and looks than I'm sure anyone can help you here. There has been alot of good clean rides come through here.

Good building

like everyone else is saying,

Intake and Exhaust for sound. Little performance but always a nice little start :)

always go for tints, wheels, interior lights, lowering springs...

good luck!

Tint and wheels are already taken care of :)

Already investigating interior lights but I'm trying to decide what "theme" I'm going with...I'm thinking a reverse dreamsicle...white and orange :)

Check out oznium.com for interior LEDs. They're great.
