:confused:I have this little problem with my xa....
Everytime I use my airconditioner or heater she makes this weird rattling noise and every time I take her in to see whats wrong the guys think im crazy. They say they dont hear anything, but my friends say they do. Any thoughts??

could be the belt. james clevenger sp? AKA jclevenger had that problem a while back. i remember sitting outside hearing him drive up with his a/c going and that belt loud as fuck

i can offer you no auto tips, however, i can relate to your helpless/awkward feeling of the "i swear it does it...its just not doing it now" feeling...ive had this happen to me many times lol

Mine does the same.when I turn it on. but it eventually goes away but it comes back 10 fold with the air/ heater on:sad:

I thought it would have went away when I had my front half replaced in the accident but it didnt it seemed to have gotten worse. I might just have to check out another dealership to see if they will help me. Anyone know of a good dealer in the torrance cali area. I went to the one on PCH in Torrance but they act dumb. I hear the gardena one rips people off.. Im not sure about the Manhatten Beach one though.

i did have some change in the ashtray but i took it out thinking that that was making all the noise but its still there

Mine is empty. I dont keep anything in the car worth steeling. I even take my ipod when i go places.

Well so far it looks like it might be coming from my defroster. The noise seems to only be happening when I use my vents to defrost my windows etc or when my car has been sitting around for more then 2 hrs.... So now that its in a spot how would I fix that lol?? Any thoughts??

Is it a metalic rattle or more plastic sounding?

If it is metalic, look under the hood..if it is plastic, it is most likely in the dash, or the plastic panel under the wipers.

Didn't Scion have a tech bulliten about something like this?

Well one thing that led to the noise was that one of the bolts werent tight enogh but im still getting that rattling noice and it seems to be from my passenger side..whats the diff between metal and plastic rattling??

lol i know that much but i was hoping for more of a discription of the sound but then again thatd be a little hard to explain. but Ill check into that and see what happens.

WHat he ment was plastic sounds like plastic hitting each other and the other is a metal on metal sound...
