Hey guys wasn't sure where to post this since it can be open to anyone. I was thinking about getting this oil cap for $19
http://ssuperstore.com/images/2-OC020-RD-XA.jpg

I wasn't sure if I should do it, or try and make my own Nintendo theme cap. I want to make my engine bay a little nicer for shows, and wasn't sure what else I could do. I did up my battery a bit.

You could do something a little more JDM Like the new Blitz one. Or you can rock that ebay one that the anodizing will fade to pink.

That oil cap that says Blitz on it. Well this might surprise you but it comes from Blitz. Blitzusa or just google it. it is 85.00 its the one I run on my ride. it only comes in black chrom.

It seems like no one pays attention to actual JDM companies that make parts for Scion. All i see people buy is straigh-up E-bay or off the shelf local auto parts made in god knows where.

By all means this is no blast on you. It kills me that people have no Idea where to find some of this stuff or they just want to be cheap.

go to some of these sites and check stuff out:

Bulletproof automotive: They specialize in JDM parts. from places like Top Secret, Fusion and the real Fab body parts not that cheap $hit from ED.

Also go to Mackin industries: makers of ARC, Rays Engineering and others

Blitz and Greddy both have new stuff out for our cars as well as HKS.

I'd like to see some people put some thought into what their building and not just stop at ebay for the next junk item up for bid made by Joe in his basement on a drunk friday night.

And one last thing, People stay away from Wire-Loom. I get it you want some color but for F-sakes that dosen't mean cover all your factory hoses. It makes you look rediculus and that had only 10.00 dollars to spend on your engine bay.

When a judge and as a judge looks in your engine bay their looking for neat, clean and powerful. not wire-loom and lights.

Ok I ranted a little. Back on topic. check out the above sites youll find some nice things.

Thanks man for all the sites. I knew Greddy and HKS made parts for the xB but never knew Blitz did. I've heard of all of these companies before and have always wondered if i could get some serious JDM goodies from any of em.... And what thread size/ part number was ur oil cap? And i noticed a few exhausts that fit on a bB and was wondering if you know if those would work on an xB

Blitz is very Toyota friendly, which means their Scion friendly. Also they make the nicest S/C kit for the 1st. gen XB. As far as the oil cap just call them and tell them that you have a toyota they'll get you out the right one. They only make two caps and the other one fits Mitsubishi so it won't be hard to figure out. They also make a nice radiator cap. As far as exhaust goes, most Bb and XB stuff matches up. It may not be perfect match but it will be close. Your best bet just get one thats for your car, theres so many to choose from.

Here are some other cool things below.

you should do an evil mushroom for the oil cap or make it look like a warp tube

Last 2 items are as follows

1. Apexi Resivor recovery tank
2. The "wrist band" this is a Skunk2 Brake resivor cover it wraps around the brake resivor cap. it keeps brake fluid from leaking or getting messy.

Come on people do you not open up a Import magazine of any kind and actually look around.

Hope this helps

Sometimes you got to get creative with our cars by looking at other rides like: Honda or so fourth. Alot of stuff out there is interchangeable as well as modifiable. One thing is for sure, I streech the limits on that. If see something that looks like it might work, I'll buy it then tare it half way apart reweld or refabricate what I need to, to make it work.

Remember all it takes is air, fuel, spark to make an engine work. Everything else is like decorations, It finishes the ride.

Never be afraid to step out side the box and make something your own.

Good building guys and gals

Hey guys great on ideas on everything. I ended up making my own oil cap. Figure this way its more unique, and fits my car.
I bought more of those mushroom candy tins from Hot Topic, the same one that I made my shifter out of, expect I didn't need the bottom part. I filled it with resin and than put my stock oil cap inside of it and let it harden. Heres what I came out with

And here it is installed. You can also see I put a power up star onto my dipstick as well. It was a candy tin as well. I just drilled a hole into the bottom, than took liquid nails on the side of the tin and pressed the tin back together over the stick. Ended up coming out pretty nice.

Here is a shoot of the engine bay.

I like the tip about the wire loom. I did my best not to put to much into the bay. I like using the wire mesh hose covers, but with those you have to completely take off one end of the hose to get it in. It looks much nicer though. Let me know what you guys think. Also just for kicks heres a pic of the outside to tie in the whole nintendo theme of the car.
